    Serving as a counterbalance to Wolverine and the X-Men, Uncanny X-Men takes a more serious and intelligent approach to the fallout from Schism as Cyclops reorganizes what is left of his X-Men to drive forward his vision for the future of mutantkind. Kieron Gillen and Carlos Pacheco do well in quickly establishing this new status quo and bring about the return of one of the X-Men's better villains.I said it in my other review.     Good, but not as good as the other team 0

    So here we are after Schism. I think this is going to turn out to be a highly personal thing, but I found Wolverine And the X-men to be a better #1. You can't help but compare the two as they've come out back to back. I enjoyed not just the writing and art on Wolverine, but also the subject matter. Wolverine was about the school. Uncanny is an action book. (At least this issue is)In this issue, Cyclops sets up an "Extinction Team" which is basically his para-military to deal with the new Sentine...

    So this is a combination of a review of this issue as well as a blog commentary on the state of the X-books. I've loved the X-men since I can remember, but in the past couple of years or so, there have been a lot of X titles and storylines featuring common themes and uncommon resolutions. The cast while whittled down significantly, is still fairly large for someone whose favorite stories come from the Cockrum and early Claremont era.
