    Why is the Silver Surfer and Galactus in a Thor comic? What reason could they possibly have to be here...?The Good This is a stand alone Thor series. Matt Fraction has promised that despite the fact he's writing Fear Itself, the current big Marvel event, this series will not be tied to it. When Fraction first mentioned that Galactus would be interested in Asgard, I couldn't believe it hadn't been done or addressed before.     Fraction pitches a lot of concepts and stories simultaneously in this first issue, making that the strong and weakest feats of it at the same time - strong because it shows our heroes Thor, Sif and Loki (?) in a quest of the most importance, obeying orders from Odin, something previous to Fear Itself # 1, and it allows Oliver Coipel to deliver the awesome art that is his style: action and movement, though I definitely enjoy his square faces and his own style - in the other hand, the multiple fa...

     for anyone who really digs Thor and wants to stick within the wheelhouse that makes Thor and Asgardian stories worth reading, make your way over to Journey Into Mystery.  I love reading Matt Fraction on Uncanny X-Men, sort of like him on Invincible Iron Man, am suspending judgment on Fear Itself, but DO NOT care for where he has Thor going.  It's somewhere between sci-fi and fantasy, and not really in a good way, but in that "why is a Norse god fighting weird, red goblin pirate things and...
