    Very poor

The beginning is very attractive, Atlas being a powerful man close to a god. like Hercules was. We don't see major aspects of his personality. Half of story is a flashback and, at least me, can't see a climax and something to care about this.

The main reason to read this is the old vintage aspect which I find it cool. Next we have the cover which is glorious, the best thing of this comic!

Finally, I was very disappointed of the story. At the end the comic we are told an address where there were sent votes for a series of Atlas, but it seems that it didn't received many votes and it wasn't continued anymore. If it was continued this would be a great 1st issue, but for an one-shot it didn't meet my criteria at all!

The story is pretty standard stuff for the genre, and what one would expect from Jack Kirby. Told partially in flashback, we are introduced to a character who would, years later, play a relatively important role in a major Superman story arc. (I think James Robinson must LOVE this series, as several of his signature characters have come from 1st Issue Special) The art is also on a...
