Many of us saw this coming, but that doesn't make this any less heartbreaking! Cartoon Network's latest press release lists new and returning shows and unfortunately fan favorites Young Justice and Green Lantern aren't on it! First the unexplained delay, now this? I'll let that sink in and give you a moment or two to vent.

Despite being widely loved by comic fans, the two animated shows didn't appear on the list. Instead, Teen Titans Go! and Beware the Batman made the cut.

This is very disappointing news, especially after Green Lantern shocked us with such a powerful episode ("Loss"). Viners, this is where I usually ask you to sound off, but I think a moment of silence is more appropriate.

I just started getting into GL this season. What a bummer.

Cartoon Network is a pile of sh*t. They should fold as a network for their stupid decisions. Beware of the Batman looks retarded and Teen Titans go is annoying.

This is messed up man. I Loved those shows and they were the only reason to watch cartoon network. The channel has gone on a down spiral and it finally hits.

I am not happy and well a bunch of other fans will not be happy either if this is true.

I think we should email them and demand the show to come back on lets see what happens.

Oh, but of course...can't say that I've really been on top of Young Justice or GL as of recently (as shows come on at least hours before their normal time with my aunt's t.v., and those shows come on pretty early normally...), but this sorta thing still pisses me off. Cartoon Network canning good shows before their time? Totally not surprising.

Part of the reason they failed is because a lot of the hardcore fans on this site simply watched the episodes on youtube instead of watching them on cartoon network, on demand, or on iTunes.

Sad because both shows were top notch.

It's a shame to see Young Justice go, as it only hit its stride during season 2/Invasion. But its not that uncommon for cartoon shows, especially based on licensed properties to only last two or three seasons before being replaced with a spiritual successor (like Titans Go). I feel like once this season wraps up, the creators will have told all the stories that they really needed to tell.

It's a wonder that the Bruce Timm stuff from the 90s and early 00s managed to last so long. Pretty much the only 90s superhero toon stuff that still stands up today without the very strong influence of nostalgia.
 
Let's toss all of the great stuff off the air to make room for more garbage like Ultimate Spider-Man! Yeah!

My anger has no limits at this moment, this network has just spat on the faces of loyal fans who have stood by this show even after the treatment it has been getting from its own network.

yeah they really screwed the pooch with handling of these two shows. Green Lantern was just to inconsistent for me to really be sad about it being cancelled. But, YJ deserved better then getting replaced by a rehashed Teen Titans.

Perhaps they will continue where YJ ended?!?

Extremely disappointing. I picked up on this series late but caught up on everything and was very excited for this second season. I really appreciated the more mature tone of the show and running quips such as "Whelmed". Characters could be killed, mature topics (such as romance and drug abuse) were covered and the character designs were for the most part top notch. Teen Titans GO means nothing to me and Beware the Batman I am still on the fence about.

NONON! GREEN LANTERN! WHY DO ALL THE GOOD SHOWS GET CANCELLED!

Seriously this hits HARD. I mean, I'm glad the new Teen Titans show is coming out and all but I couldn't care LESS about Beware The Batman. And while I'm a HUGE fan of Teen Titans, it does little to lessen the blow here.

I mean, I loved the original cartoon! It made me LOVE Starfire, who in the comics I find to be a VERY uninteresting character and the New 52 has done little to change my views on her comic-self.

However with the Young Justice universe it really felt like the classic DCU. In fact I KINDA wish the Young Justice universe was the main DCU since it feels so new, but at the same time has the feel of the pre-New 52.

And Green Lantern was just awesome!! Really the Hal of that show is the same for Starfire in Teen Titans for me

CN really really sucks. First they cancell Thundercats, now Young Justice and GL?!?! WTF! I'd start wondering what amazing shows they have in the pipe that could possibly validate cancelling these shows, but we all know they are going to replace them with utter crap.

They were my favourite things about DC at the moment. Devastated :(
