@X35:
Petra... she hasn't been in much. She's newer too, but she "died" when rescuing the X-Men from Krakoa. I don't know what drew me to her, I just like her lol I think she has an interesting story, cool powers, and potential to be awesome. It's not bad you don't remember her lol But I mean, they brought back Darwin from that, and Petra's mutation would allow her to have survived as well... she could have a cool "rebirth", exploding from the ground at the epicenter of an earthquake somewhere, older, stronger, and ready to kick ass.
Meggan is one of the few characters I've shipped with Nightcrawler! I like her well enough with Captain Britain, but yeah :) Excalibur returned could definitely be awesome!

I honestly don't know exactly how this team would come together since some are dead or whatever lol, but these are my X-Men dream teams:
I would have two classic X-Men teams. In choosing them I though about who I liked to read about, who I liked leading, and the interactions of the personalities and powers. So in the first team we've got the leader, the infiltrator, the hitter, the field manipulator, the wild card, and the transport/wild card. In the second team we've got the leader, the wildcard, the distraction/hitter, the ambusher, the infiltrator, and the hitter.
Team 1: Storm (leader), Gambit, Colossus, Petra (revived), Dazzler, and Pixie
Team 2: Rogue (leader), Jubilee (non-vampire), Dust, Anole, Cipher, and Darwin
And X-Force:
I wouldn't have X-Force be two separate teams like this most of the time, like for the X-Men. Ideally, who went where on what mission would depend (obviously), on the mission, which is why I don't have two team leaders but one leader and then a second in command. But I general, this is how I'd separate the teams, and it's based mainly on their abilities. I'm thinking maybe I should have put Elixir on the team with Domino, X-23, Archangel and Deadpool (lol), and then put Dead Girl in his place, but I don't know... it doesn't really matter because I see them more as one team. With Elixir, Wolverine, and Moonstar occasionally joining X-Men, and X-23, Boom Boom, and Domino occasionally joining X-Factor. Leaving Warpath (who I'd see as 3rd in command), AoA Nightcrawler, Archangel, Deadpool, Sunspot, and Dead Girl being left as the "go-to" gang for X-Force.
Team 1: Wolverine (leader), Warpath, Moonstar, Elixir, Boom Boom, and AoA Nightcrawler
Team 2: Domino (2nd in commander), X-23, Archangel, Deadpool, Sunspot, and Dead Girl
And X-Factor:
The current line-up I don't mind, but I'd like to see some different people on the team. A mixture of these mutants, coming and going, or setting up a sort of east coast and west coast X-Factor. I chose them for how their abilities could assist in investigations - decoys, strength, speed, shielding, finding people, enhanced senses (for eavesdropping for example), time control, intelligence, mind control, disguise, infiltration and reconnaissance, assistance when needed, connections, various skills and backgrounds for use in investigations, and escape assistance. Also there a few I felt could do with being on X-Factor, like Hellion and Skids... they need something new lol
Team 1: Madrox, Wolfsbane, Prodigy, Frenzy, Hellion, and Sway
I like your teams.
Main X-Men Dream Team:
Cyclops (Leader)
Rogue (2nd-In-Command)
Cannonball (Field Leader)
M (Jill-of-all-trades)
Chamber (Classic)
Frenzy (AoA) (Team's "muscle")
Blink (AoA) (Team's teleporter/transport)
Elixir (Team's healer/ medic)
Madrox (One man army)
Junior X-Men Dream Team:
Jubilee (Classic, Non Vampire) (Instructor/ Trainer)
Cannonball (Instructor/ Trainer)
Match (Co-Leader)
Hellion (Co-Leader)
DJ (Revived, obviously)
@X35:
lol, I think vampire-Jubilee could be cool on X-Force, but classic-Jubilee is best for a traditional team imo :)

@redleigh86: How do you do that cool thing with the image stack? I cant work out how to do it with pictures that aren't in the same gallery. :S
The pictures all in a row? I have to copy the image source, and then when I click the image button in the response box I just chose the "url" option. If you do several images at once (like I did 6 at a time for ex, for each team), you're given an option to stack either vertically or horizontally :) It's pretty cool; works well with topics like this lol
@X35: ohhhh lol, I never even realized that option above the response box until you mentioned it! haha
@redleigh86: haha, it's tucked away. I probably should've noticed sooner
i was going to make a Freedom Force team (i liked the concept of a government version of the x-men) but every single character i went to get pictures of apparently was dead. that's what i get for not being quite up-to-date.
Freedom force
Mystique, Sabretooth, Juggernaut, Blob, Pyro, Avalanche, Mimic, Taskmaster, Typhoid Mary
I think all these characters would go working for the government if they had the choice rather than fight for a cause. some might think they're doing some good, others just in it for the cheque and the chance to legally kill stuff. :)
i chose taskmaster to be there because i really liked when he was pretending to be a mutant in the house of m version freedom force and he is contracted by the government a lot and he worked for the csa around the same time as the original freedom force, so they probably met and worked together at some point.

This would be really fun to read! And I miss Mystique :(

Nice idea for a book. I'd read that.

"New X-Men"
- Hellion (Leader).
- Surge.
- Mercury.
- Dust.
- Anole.
- Rockslide.
- X-23.
Missing Wallflower and Wind-Dancer.
Also, the Astonishing X-Men team.
But Laurie's dead and Wind-Dancer's depowered. Second to that, she's the one who left the X-Men after M-Day.
This team was meant to represent a current possibility of the slightly older, ex-New X-Men students departing from both Team Logan and Team Cyclops and going off on their own path a la Original X-Force/New Mutants.
What about the Astonishing X-Men team?

I was assuming Death and Depowerment wouldn't affect decision of your "Dream Team".

Nah, this is kind of "my ideal team that could be made right now given the status quo of the MU", ha.
Hmmmm, the new one? I'm not sure it's my dream team, but it's okay.
Mine again with slight changes :)
@Gambit1024: So would I... obvioulsy.
I really wish they'd bring Exiles back with the classic cast (Blink, Mimic, Nocturne, Morph, Sabretooth) ... maybe give Jeff parker an actual shot at the series instead of cancelling the book when he'd just started trying to revive it after Claremont more or less killed it by making it The Psylocke Show. :(
also if they do excalibur again, they really should realise that combining it with MI:13 would make it like the best book ever. :D
i can't believe i forgot new mutants though... i'll go back and edit them in :)
P.S. anyone know is there a similar thread for Avengers somewhere? :)

Could totally get on board with this.
It would be written by Rick Remender and pencilled by a combo team of J. G. Jones and Oliver Coipel. The arc itself would last for around 20 issues, no idea as to plot/reason for being in space, I just think it'd be a cool and interesting way to develop some of these characters. I thought about adding Cable into the mix too.
In my book a good x-team needs a from 5 to maximum 7 members.
It needs a leader, a stong guy/girl, at least one flyer, at least one energy shooter, a telepath, a grim/mean guy/girl, a funny guy/girl, a nimble/fast guy, one guy/girl who is deformed/ugly, one who can't control his/her powers, one very powerful Guy/girl.
my perfect x-squad would be:
Marvel Woman (Jean Grey, omega level telekenetic/telepath, no more phoenix)(powerful, flying, leader, telepath)
Iceman (Robert Drake, omega level cool guy)(Powerful, shooter, kinda flying, funny)
Colossus (Piotr Raputin, organic steel juggernaut)(Stong guy, cant control juggy powers)
Wolverine (James "Logan" Howlett, best at what he does)(mean guy)
Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner, bamphing)(Nible,deformed,funny)
Loa (newbe kid, potentialy powerful, cant control powers that well)
I'm ready for the New Mutants senior class to take over, honestly. Magik, Mirage, Karma, Wolfsbane, Cipher, Magma, Cannonball, Sunspot and even Rictor and Shattershot would be a pretty good team in lieu of the old guard at this point.
@Backflip: Can we just...i dunno, ignore what Bishop did ? Like, overlook it as some sort of drunk editorial mistake ?
:(
My updated dream team(s)
X-Men- Promote peaceful coexistance between humans and mutants
New Xtreme X-Men "Scott and Emma built their own team to defend their race at all cost"
Wolverines School staff- Want nothing more than to protect and teach the students
Students-
X Factor- Fine as is.
The team:
Jean Grey
Wolverine
Hope Summers
Colossus
Shadowcat
Nightcrawler - eventually, as he is believed dead at the beginning of the arc.
The first issue begins with a brief recap of the X-Men's history, beginning with their foundation, and ending with Regenesis. It is revealed that the narrator is Charles Xavier who feels that he has been shunned from the X-Men and that Scott is slowly becoming Magneto. He feels that Scott's X-Men are the new Brotherhood. The person pushing Xavier's wheelchair, is revealed to be a random civilian under Xavier's control, who he calls "Jean". Xavier feels that he is losing his mind, and that his X-Men are doomed, and that all they will all be dead as soon as the humans deliver the final blow. All of his thoughts have been solicited by the Shadow King, who is deliberately driving Xavier insane, and working for the New Brotherhood. The members are Daken, the field leader, The Shadow King, a somehow resurrected Pyro ( I'll explain later), Toad, who is undercover in the Jean Grey School, Sabretooth, and Magneto, who secretly commands the terrorists from Utopia, and is plotting to overthrow Scott Summers, so as to create a Genosha 2.0. The brotherhood, capture and beat on Xavier, who doesn't resist.
Meanwhile, at the Jean Grey Institute, Colossus arrives, as he does every month, so he can secretly have the telepaths there work to remove the juggernaut from his body. He says that if Cyclops were to find out, he wouldn't allow him to come to the school anymore, because the Juggernaut is Cyclops' greatest asset. Wolverine trains Hope Summers there in secret, as well, because she secretly fears being on Utopia, due to the multitude of nuclear threats on the island. She discusses Jean Grey with Logan, asking to know what she was like. Wolverine tells her about Jean, and not to mention Jean in front of Scott as she does with him. Hope Summers spends a night at the institute, and has a vivid dream about the day Nightcrawler saved her, and how he died next to her. When leaves for Utopia, the next morning, she finds that Cerebro has found new lights. Everyone is shocked.
Issue 2 begins with one average human man talking about the world as it is. His name is Davis DuMont. He says that he was only a child when mutants started appearing. His entire neighborhood was in a frenzy of fear. Eventually, they moved, after his father assisted in the lynching of a mutant. His mother died in Magneto's attack on New York, yet he still never felt hatred for mutants. His father however, became a mutant serial killer. Eventually, his father brought a mutant home, and the police were outside, threatening to come in if the mutant died. When Davis found out about his father's activities, he attempted to kill his father, and save the mutant. His father gives him a speech about mutants will cause the end of the world, before being taken to prison. Davis refuses to listen. Now, Davis is a young, yet high ranking SHEILD agent. Many of the staff beleive Steve Rogers refuses to talk about many large issues, and that most of Steve's attention goes to the Avengers. They disguise there secret meeting as a staff retreat, and bring there families to maintain the illusion. While their families are mingling, they discuss the issues that Rogers neglects. The first is the mutant problem. Despite DuMont's tolerance for mutants, the rest of the agents have a shared hatred. The Shadow King and Toad appear to taunt the homo sapiens before bombing them. DuMont is the sole survivor of the blast. The other agents and their families are dead, along with DuMont's wife. Upon seeing the body of his wife, Davis realizes that his father was right about mutants.
Cerebro pinpointed the new mutants locations, which oddly, are all in the same spot. Some sort of criminal transaction is going on. A truck full of people is given to a mobster. When peeking through the truck's window, he sees a large batch of mutant prisoners, with bound heads and burlap sacks over their heads. He hands a briefcase full of money to the person selling him the mutants and departs. It turns out, that he just did business with a mutant trafficking ring, so that he could use the mutant slaves as henchmen. Each one has a collar that prevents unauthorized usage of their powers. The police intercept the mobster, and some of his henchman are killed. The mobster releases his mutants, so that he can get away. The police do not hesitate to kill all of the mutants. one of whom looks like Kevin Ford. Wolverine and Shadowcat were in the blackbird, dropping off Colossus and Hope, when they got the notification that new mutants had appeared, and decide to detour and investigate. They are shocked to find that all of the mutants were in the same spot and that they are all dead. Wolverine initially believes this to be a mass execution, but the police tell him that they had no choice to kill the mutants that were attacking them. They also inform them that the mutants were most likely being sold as slaves. Suddenly, it is revealed that one of the mutants did not die. From the rubble emerges Jean Grey.
In the rest of the arc:
Jean reveals that she was sold as a slave by a clandestine organization. Hope and Jean bond, despite Jean initially thinking that Hope was a clone. Jean learns of everything that has occurred since her death. Jean admits she does not know how she returned. When asked about the others who might be enslaved, Jean can only name a few. Wither, Tag, and Icarus, all of whom are deceased. They track down the mobster who purchased Jean, and find out who sold Jean and where they are hiding. Meanwhile, it is revealed that since the bombing of his wife, Davis DuMont has taken up the name Dr. Chimera ( the serial killer nickname that newspapers gave to his father), left SHEILD, and has started a hate group known as the Fangs, who are engaging in a ground war with the brotherhood of mutants in Arizona. DuMont's organization has been selling mutant slaves, one of which was Jean and another was Pyro. The X-Men raid the base of Fang's operations, inadvertently releasing the brotherhood prisoners incarcerated there. Tag, Icarus, and the other prisoners have a new found hatred for humans after being slaves for so long, and join the brotherhood rather than leaving with the X-Men. The X-Men are cornered by the brotherhood refuse to stand down, while Dr. Chimera and the Fangs escape, leaving everyone else in the complex three minutes before a bomb kills them all. The X-Men and Brotherhood continue to brutally fight, not knowing about the bomb. With over 60 mutants on the brotherhood's side and four X-Men, Jean and her team end up getting beaten horribly. Xavier is the brotherhood's prisoner and is witnessing his X-Men perish. Upon seeing Jean, Charles immediately snaps out of the Shadow King's grasp and contacts the one prisoner who didn't join the brotherhood, telepathically. It turns out to be Nightcrawler, who teleports Xavier and the X-Men to safety. Meanwhile, the bomb goes off, killing about 40 of the prisoners that were with the brotherhood. Colossus, after being stabbed by Daken multiple times (as punishment for not joining daken, who was trying to unleash the juggernaut) appears to be in a coma. Hope's guilt over Nightcrawler's death slowly goes away.
The Fang invades Utopia, after Magneto and the Brotherhood, overthrow and imprison Cylcops and his x-men. The x-men try to stop the fighting, while xavier tries to heal colossus. After a long battle, it appears the X-Men are doomed. Then, Colossus is healed an unleashes the juggernaut on Daken and the brotherhood, giving Jean and the others a chance to strike. Kurt teleports Magneto's helmet off, and Jean tortures and incapacitates him, in an act of revenge for her own death. Prof X lobotomizes and cripples the Shadow King, Nightcrawler shatters Pyro's jaw, and beats toad to a pulp while Kitty defeats most of The Fang. Dr Chimera explains his origins to Wolverine, before donning stolen Stark armor and escaping, badly wounded. After the battle, hope and colossus leave utopia. Xavier becomes the leader of the school, and Jean insists that the school be named after Charles, which everyone agrees to, as he started the x-men and it is his dream that makes them want to fight. Hope, who was shot in the chest by Chimera, awakes from her hospital bed, with the Phoenix Force around her, and suddenly, hundreds of thousands of mutants appear on Cerebro. Elsewhere, Chimera prepares for the war to come.
In light of AvX, I want to see a Cyclops team. A hardline, pro mutant agenda that breaks Cyclops out and follows him through thick and thing, effectively becoming fugitives, sacrificing their freedom for their race and ideals.
Cyclops (Leader)
Emma Frost
Magneto
Cable
Colossus
Namor
Magik
Psylocke
Rachel Grey
Cannonball
Sage
Angel
They'd split into a variety of teams. Cable, Domino, Magik and Psylocke would form X-Force whilst the rest would be effectively a new 'Extinction Team'. Warren would back them secretly with his vast wealth so as to not attract attention from the Avengers, whilst Sage would return to the X-Men at the mansion and act as a mole.
X Men (Blue team)
Cyclops (leader)
Wolverine
Emma Frost
Nightcrawler
Colossus
Kitty Pryde (w/ Lockheed)
Psylocke
X Men (Gold Team)
Storm (leader)
Rogue
Beast (this is the third time I've edited this spot... can't believe I originally left Beast out)
Gambit
Angel
Hope
X-23
Rachel Grey
X Force
Cable (team leader)
Deadpool
Fantomex
Domino
Cannonball
Psylocke (reserve member)
Wolverine (reserve member)

Why Havok? He's Scott-lite and half as interesting.
And I thought of another X-team that I'd like to see:
another Generation Hope or New Mutants or whatever you want to call this new team of younger mutants:
Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost (serve as mentors/liasons for the team... generally don't go on missions with them)
Hope (team leader)
Armor
X-23
Pixie
Oya
Stepford Cuckoos
Genesis
Velocidad
The world is torn human and mutant kind are constantly at war. The avengers and fantastic four are not against the mutants but they have turned their backs. Shield runs teams like the thunderbolts and dark avengers to hunt helpless mutants.(all previously stated teams are purged of mutants) some mutants still hold on and fight for peace. The x men: storm(leader),Nathan summers x man, Emma frost,cannonball,colossus,kitty,dust,beast,pixie,x-23,stepfords,rockslide,havok,Polaris,magneto,danger. Base of operations is Wakanda (tchalla backs his wife) Somewhere along the line cyclops snaps. He has watched too many mutants slaughtered , The brotherhood of mutants: leader is cyke. Wolverine I now Scotts best friend and most trusted ally and vise versa. Iceman, Kurt darkholme, warpath, namor, sabertooth, mystique(love triangle with drake and creed), domino(Logan's girl) psylocke (Scott's girl), blob, pyro, Franklin Richards!!!!!(wildcard teen angst). Base of operations is utopia.
The end-all, be-all premiere X-Men team:
That's all you need. Wolverine, Emma, Magneto, Magik, Rachel... they can all go fu** themselves. I'm tired of them. Especially Wolverine. It almost seems like he's in 50 places at once with how many comics he's in. Marvel is really whoring him out these days.

I'd put Psylocke in Jean's spot, but otherwise I like this team alot.
X-Men(Red Team): Cyclops, Emma Frost, Beast, Angel, Iceman.
X-Men(Blue Team): Wolverine, Colossus, Shadowcat(I still like to call Kitty that), Nightcrawler, Storm
X-Factor: Havok, Polaris, Gambit, Rouge, Cannonball
X-Force: Cable, Wolverine, Psyloke, Fantomex, Deadpool
