Vaughn would be cool. He was great on Mystique, Logan, and Ultimate X-Men.

I also like Greg Rucka. He is more of a DC guy, so I don't know if he would have the knowledge for X-Men, but he does often deliver when he writes for Marvel. He was good on Elektra and Wolverine.

Rick Remender would be better than what he have. I usually don't like the writers that go heavy with sci-fi, but he makes it work. Except on Punisher.

Soule is capable of telling good stories, but his charecter development seems weak.

Mark Waid already wrote X-Men on a main title. He took over X-Men Volume 2 after Fabian Nicieza left. He was involved in Age of Apocalypse and Onslaught. He actually has his own spot in X-Men history. He was the first writer to write a main X-Men title where a fan could look at it and think, "I know more about X-Men than this guy." His style might not be bad for a X-Men book, but he probably lacks the knowledge to be good.

I am not very familiar with a lot of those. I don't have any writers in mind, I just want someone to come in and surprise me.

Hickman....but i guess it boils down to what @Immolation said.. the writers may be good, but if they lack knowledge of the X-Men its pointless.

The fact is were at a point now where we fans know more about the comics and characters then it feels like the last 7 first time writers have. And from a series that desperately needs infrastructure....thats a big deal.

After Vision, I'd definitely like to see Tom King play with the X-world.

Hickman... I'm conflicted on this one, he is really hit or MISS.

Rucka may be interesting, his run on Punisher made me fan again.

Remender is probably the funniest case, it's 90% god no, and 10% hell yes.

My top choices would be Hickman, Scott Snyder, and Tom King.

    1. Hickman is excellent and has written some great team dynamics and worldbuilding in his Avengers/New Avengers Marvel Now work as well as Secret Wars and Fantastic Four.

    2. Scott Snyder wrote an exceptional Swamp Thing and Batman and knows how to expand the themes of characters.

    3. King has impressed me with Vision and Omega Men and is becoming my top 3 writers as of late. The man has talent

What did Hickman do for everyone to be so hyped about him? I couldnt get into his Avengers run or Secret Wars.
