Beast was my personal favorite, i dont like how he has been lately but him and Iceman were almost like comic relief in some issues and they had a great friendship, so yea beast was my fav of the O5

Jean Grey. I was always surprised by how much more active she could be compared to the other heroines of that era. It depended on the writer, of course, but she had Marvel's first official Girl Power Moment, which always makes me smile.

I'm not surprised to see Cyclops in the lead on this, nor am I trying to say he doesn't deserve it; but, out of curiosity, is this thread only on the X-men board, or is it on the Avengers board too? because I can't help but feel that that would make a difference..

Hmmm...Considering that this entire lineup is always considered X-Men, even when operating operate from the team and this seems posed to X-Men fans, why do you think it would make a difference?

oh, I just noticed that Beast was in second place, and I wondered if maybe he would have gotten more votes if this pole had been presented to Avengers fans too. Maybe it wouldn't make a real difference, but it did make me curious..

Beast is awesome...

Jean Grey. She has had the rawest deal out of all them. She, being the founding female member, who was too powerful for the books and had to be killed off twice. Not fair. When all those other original guys have had constant spotlight and attention over the 5 decades they have been around.

Honorary mention to Sage for being a part of the First Class but not having any history with the team until the new millenium.

Because I would go for Cyclops back in the day (but now he is just annoying). But overall I would pick beast especially like he was under Morrison's run.

Easy choice, Beast. Surprised Cyclops is winning though.

I really like shape shifters so Iceman; next up would be Jean Grey and Beast.
