If you could pick your powers and set of physical attributes (not the looks or gender) from this list of mutant characters, which would they be and why would you pick them?
Havok Quicksilver Shadowcat
Wolverine (with adamentium) Nightcrawler Psylocke
Sunspot (fully developed) Storm Multiple Man
Gambit Bishop Colossus
Banshee (fully developed) Namor Mystique
Sunfire Cannonball Beast
Iceman (fully developed) Rictor Cyclops
X-Men
Team » X-Men appears in 13419 issues.
The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
Which of these mutant powers would you choose and why?
I'll do my take.
Havok- His set would be cool, very powerful.
Wolverine- Adamentium infused body, fighting ability surpassed by none, senses, regenerative healing factor, whats not to like?
Sunspot- Strength, flight, and energy blasts
Gambit- Strong fighting skills, ability to always get the chick, and blow stuff up? Nice
Banshee- Sonic scream, flight, concussive blast, hypnotise, and cancel sound.
Sunfire- Flight, very powerful and can switch to infared vision
Quicksilver- Run really fast. Thats pretty cool ability, Could come in handy for day to day applications when not kicking butt.
Nightcrawler- Ability to climb up walls, unsurpassed agility, and teleportation. "Crap I forgot to turn in the movie and Blockbuster closes in five minutes. BAMPF".
Storm- Flight, and control weather. Guarantees you will be a formidable foe for the most powerful super humans, and you will never get rained out at the beach again.
Bishop- Blast him with your best, and you will get it right back at ya.
Namor- Breathe underwater, flight, strength, durability, excellent fighting skills. He is the navy seal of the superhero world with his ability to take the fight to both land, air and sea.
Cannonball- Super fast flight, impervious to harm while flying.
Rictor- Seimec energy dispersion.
Shadowcat- For when you just feel like you need to get away.
Psylocke- Strong fighter, telekinetic blade, strong mental powers.
multiple man- gurantees you will never be alone or fight alone. Very handy in escape situations.
Colossus- Super stronger and super durable and you don't have to look like a freak all the time.
Mystique- Healing factor, and shape shift into who you want. Getting some action on Saturday night will never be a problem again.
Beast- Strong, super intelligent, super agility has shown to have some heightened senses.
Cyclops- Optic Blasts.
For me it would be hard to choose between, Namor, Sunspot, Banshee, and Nightcrawler. I think it would be Banshee with Namor as a close second.
Wolverine seems to have the powers that would cause the least amount of accidental collateral damage
I meant to say Banshee with Namor as a close second, and Sunfire as a distant third.
Sunfire doesn't really have much real world application but he is pretty bad @$$. I chose banshee mainly because the flight, sonic scream as an offensive weapon and the hypnotising. Namor would be cool for the strength, flight and being able to breathe underwater.
...i really wouldn't want any of these...if i had a power it would be time manipulation
however to answer the question, i guess out of these, Storm's is the most useful, just imagine how much good you can use it for, if i had Storm's powers, Hurricane Katrina would have stopped before it started...also i would never have to carry an umbrella
If i had the choice, id have the powers of my fav hero, MEGGAN, but if im limited to these characters, STORM or MYSTIQUE. I find these to be the most useful in daily life.
Psylocke, those mental powers in the real world would completely make my life awesome.
Use telepathy to get money, no need to work
Use awesome psychic blades if you get attacked
Telekinesis is also a plus (favorite power)
Wolverine's regenerative powers are depressing, watch all you family and friends die and live forever
Nightcrawler
BAMF! That's just too awesome for words. Say goodbye to long distance trips, if I want to go to Venice, someone can show me a picture of the Rialto Bridge and ... BAMF! The agility is an added bonus. It's like all the best parts of Spider-man, combined with awesome teleportation.
Let's just hope I don't have to look like Kurt.
Iceman. He's virtually immortal since he can exist in his ice form....and i think he can also exist as vapor and water (if memory serves) Travel would be a snap with the ice slides and my beer would never get warm ;)
I have always liked Shadowcats ability.....you could never stopped by anyone. I mean even Nightcrawlers has some limitations.
No one could ever hold me down!!
Multiple Man is probably one of the most useful, real-life powers. I'd take that power.
I would go with Ice Man's power because its awesome and I live in Chicago and it would be handy during the winter time!!!
The fanboy in me wants to say Cyclops, but I'd probably pick Quiksilver's or Wolverine's of that list.
Shadowcat mixed with Cannonball. Being able to blast-off at top speed through the air without fear of crashing into anything or anyone would be amazing.
Storm's Elemental Powers - The godly power of nature has always been appealing to me...very epic and flashy.
Psylocke's Fightning Skills - Quite a few good h2h fighters on the list but who wouldn't want the h2h and blade wielding skills of a ninja master :-)
Shadowcat - it's sounds so cool to go through walls without running into anything!
Storm - I could control the weather so it would be sunny all the time!
Nightcrawler - I could teleport myself back and forth without breaking a sweat.
Colossus - pretty handy in lifting heavy boxes for clean up
Quicksilver - I can easily get any job done in a matter of seconds.
Out of this list
Nightcrawler- Being able to teleport to wherever i please would be awesome!
Psylocke- Telepathy would be kickass!
Shadowcat- Love to walk through walls!
Mystique- Turn into whoever I want? What's not to like
Psylocke- Telepathy could come in REALLY handy and so could telekinesis
Namor - highly intelligent, possessed of a host of useful superhuman abilities, a great businessman and just plain good looking. Of those in the list, I think he has the best powers to possess in a real world.
I generally favor telepaths because it is drop down the best power to have in the real world,, but Psylocke doesn't have a stable powerset, and I'd be more afraid of ending up with a crappy powerset one day because of some random fluke LOL. Imagine being a good telepath one day, than having crap like the Crimson Dawn (complete with tacky eye tattoo & weird emotional hangups) happen to you. Too stressful.
I chose Havok because he is power and very handsome. also Namor because he is the king of the sea and can make me a queen de maravilla.
Most of them are just "badass" "awesome" powers that aren't really useful in realife, I mean what can you do with abilities like Colossus, Banshee, Bishop, Havok, Sunspot, Storm, Gambit, Sunfire, Cannonball, Beast, Iceman, Rictor and oh god, Cyclops? Go wild? F@ck the world up? Make everybody jealous? Become a hero? lol
The powers I find to be actually useful from the list:
Quicksilver - completely stopping to be bothered with time and borders getting to any point of the world within seconds? Check. But then living in a world that almost doesn't move for you?
Shadowcat - yeah, did you also think about that robbery of the century?
Wolverine (with adamentium) - to become immortal, almost unkillable with a infinite potential of killing others? It will cost you something in our world.
Nightcrawler - teleporting, no explanation needed I think
Psylocke - perfect, especially that new powerset of her with TK and constructs. If you're smart, you'll never be detected.
Multiple Man - useful, so damn useful. But damn, this powerset is ridiculous lol
Namor - if you have an obsession for seas, totally understandable, otherwise... another "awesome"
Mystique - another pure usefulness, and if you're a bi, makes it perfect not only for usefulness
I would want Shadowcat's or Wolverine's. I would go into detail about the why but.... I feel like that's pretty obvious really. Healing and walking through stuff.
wow this is a majorly necro'd thread... lol
agreed with adamtrmm about the usefulness factor of many of the powers.
that said... i'd choose a telekinetic to have the powers of every time. Psylocke's or Jean's... sure throw in telepathy for the psionic 2 for 1 package.
Mystique + Multiple Man... the possibilities are endless ;)
Psylocke. Telepathy and Telekinesis are the most practical for real life. You can practically do anything you want, and without the risk of discovery since TK and TP can be used without having to show your power (unless you decide to whip up a TK construct in the middle of a restaurent or something lol)
@onemoreposter: are you a soldier or something? A hunter? why is wolverine's power practical to your everyday life as opposed to psylockes/multipleman/mystique? just curious lol
