I've been thinking of a few stories that would make a good What If? story. I know that there have been several X-Men What If? stories in the past. But here are a few I've been thinking about. I also wanna hear what you think would make good X-Men What If? stories.

1. What If the X-Men had different powers?

2. What If Wolverine the Origin?

3. What If Excalibur hadn't disbanded?

4. What If Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch had joined the original X-Men?

5. What If the X-Men had been run by the Government?

What would the sex and powers of Polaris and Havoc's child be?

Answer: Id want it to be a female who can suck the energy out of anything, and throw it back, thus leaving a mutant as a flatscan human for minutes to an hour.

Except for the last one, they all seem kind of pointless.

What if Utopia voted for a new leader (like Scott suggested at the end of Schism, instead of Logan just packing up and leaving), and elected Logan. Basically, what if Logan was leader of Utopia, the X-Men and the whole mutant race.

Every team must be X-Force. With varying degrees of force.

What if the X-Men were the worlds premier super hero team instead of the Avengers. In this universe mutants have better relations with humans, or indeed, are treated as they were just humans. Scott Summers is America's top cop.

What if Jean Grey lived and Cyclops got shot in the eye by Quicksilver?

I'd love to see a story connecting the metaphysical or mystical connections between Wanda Maximoff, Layla Miller, Hope Summers and Illyana Rasputin. (So much story potential/ connective tissue here) I was hoping for this to be hinted at or at least explored in Second coming but sadly Hellbound turned out to be a mere wild goose chase.

What if the X-Mansion was like Cromartie high School? I'd love to see that but it would never happen.

What if William Stryker had succeeded in God Loves Man Kills?

What if Christian and Emma Frost switched lives, and he became the telepathic mutant known as the White Drag Queen?

What if Jean went Dark Phoenix, but remained as the Black Queen of the HellFire Club?

What if Jean never followed Wolverine to Asteroid M in Planet X?

What if Storms parents never left Harlem?

What if Magneto was born in the South of the United States in 1955 to Klan member parents and he was gay and part of his mutation made him look like a black man?

What if Nightcrawler performed an exorcism on Magik?

What if Hope was Bishops future wife and the future he was trying to avoid by killing her was the time she cheated on him in a Mutant death camp in Nevada?

What if TOAA said "Some More Mutants"?

What if Jean just left Emma in pieces in the med lab?

What if Toad ate the firefly possessed by the Phoenix in Endsong?

What if Jean became Onslaughts consort?

What if the Greys told Xavier to get lost, and the Frosts asked him for help with their telepathic daughter?

What if Nate Grey and Cable would have also been at the family reunion during End of Greys?

What if Jean and Cable failed to save Scott and he stayed merged with Apocalypse?

What if Onslaught won?

What If the Scarlet Witch never cast that damn spell ?

What if Graydon Creed had been born a mutant and ran for president? (With Evangeline Whedon as his VP)

What if Namor & Meggan became an item?

What if the Shi-Ar invaded Earth?

- What If Hulk killed Illuminati during World War Hulk?
- What if Domino and Shatterstar were a part of Uncanny X-Force?
- What if Wolverine was a king of Madripoor?

What if Jean was able absorb Madeline's psyche into her mind at the end of Inferno?

What if Rogue put Captain America into a Coma?

What if sentinels came after Franklin Richards?

What if Franklin Richards and Kitty Pride were an item?(Franklin is obviously older in this story)

What if Wolverine did not kill his Skrull imposter during the Apocalypse the 12 story?

What if Hulk lived on Utopia?

What if Stryfe raised hope?

What if Deadpool was leader of the X-Men .

What if Wolverine had Cyclopes's hair and became a totally douche like Cyclopes.

What if Apocalypse was the good guy .

What if everyone was a mutant and humans where the outcast?

Or it is the 1930's and it is like a dark detective story.

What if Wolverine was a WOMAN?!

How about he and Batman are the same person?

What if everyone DIDN'T hate Scott?

What if Jean Gray stayed dead?

What if Deadpool could not break the 4th wall?

What if the Juggernaut never said the word b*tch?

What if Magneto was a Nazi?

What if everyone loved and accepted mutants?

What if the X-Men split apart in some kind of separation and Scott lead one team and Wolverine lead another?

What if the X-Men and the Avengers fought each other?! That would be crazy!!!!!

What if Apocalypse and Magneto switch roles
