Thats all from an alternate reality. In X-Men the End, Gambit was Sinister's son. Thats where all this Cyclops being his brother and what not is coming from. Its not the normal 616 Marvel U.

Yeah, there were rumors running around for a few years (I'm not sure where they started) about a "Third Summers Brother" and Claremont plugged in Gambit as a mix of Summers and Sinister's genes in "The End". Which kind of makes sense considering Gambit's powers as both Scott and Alex both convert one type of energy to another, which is what Gambit does as well.

I was rather fond of that idea myself, though too many coincidental family relationships popping up gets a little soap opera-y for me.

But then Brubaker went and invented Vulcan instead...

Cant stand Vulcan. But for some reason Gambit as Sinister's son just makes sense. Which is why Marvel wont do it :P

Im battling Paragon right now,its tight.

I thought Gambit was a clone of Sinister based on his template before Apoc mutated him and then given his powers by splicing Scott's mutant DNA.

At least that how it was brought and I too liked the idea as it would explain why the man had so much control over Gambit and also explain why Gambit was so relieved Sinister was dead in Ch 12 of MC. Cause as for the 616 timeline they have yet to explain how he came to be.

there is only oen thing i don't understand: whats happening to the rest of the new x-men that are nto in young x-men like hellion and elixir (are they dead) and what about the others tha went to muir island such as surge and mercury:

It's a good story. "

great story really enjoyed the whole mutants fighting for survival and racing against time to get the mutant messiah. its made even better by the fact that there are so many people interested on getting their hands on hope.
