The X-Men are a superhero team of mutants founded by Professor Charles Xavier. They are dedicated to helping fellow mutants and sworn to protect a world that fears and hates them.
I did like the original version of Cable when he appeared in New Mutants, but he has been mostly uninteresting to me every since they turned him into a Terminator 2 ripoff.
Bishop was not interesting at all throughout the 90's, likely due to Lobdell's inability to write characters that were not already established. He did become interesting in the 2000's when Claremont reinvented him in X-Treme X-Men. He has been riding on that every since.
I feel like Cable embodies everything that was wrong with the early 90s with X-Men comics and what people dislike about the X-Men franchise. So I picked Bishop.

I loved him in the Savage Land arc from Claremont's last Uncanny, leadership fits him well.
After the 90s, Bishop was uninteresting to me but during that time he was my favorite X-Man besides Joseph. I always liked Cable but he didn't become my favorite Marvel hero until the Cable & Deadpool series came out. I was a big fan of Nate Grey but after his comic turned to utter crap i switched to liking Cable more, who is actually a far deeper and complex character than most people give him credit for. A lot of people just see him as the stereotypical big, buff, gun-carrying, early 90s anti-hero but he's so much more. I just hope that Marvel does his character justice now that he's part of the Avengers Unity Squad.
