    Twilight References Abound 1

Not really "abound", but there I counted 3. Way too many to deal with.  This one-shot pits Storm and Gambit against an army of vampires. While the book adds more to the " Curse of the Mutants" story, it does nothing more. The art was a bit goofy to me and the writing wasn't something to be marveled. I was really looking forward to this one but sadly I got a "little above average" book that I would say could be easily forgotten.  Then again the Vampire craze has reached a fever pitch so I would...

    Bloody good fun 0

Storm and Gambit: Curse of the mutants one-shot has something(s) that I feel is severely lacking in the current X-books.   First is the actually usage of my all time favorite mutant: Storm, who seems to get maybe a small panel and one line of dialogue in recent stories.   I’m not sure why Cyclops and Emma seem to be running things all on their own right now, but it’s great to see Storm get the “screen” time she deserves.   Secondly this issue was penciled by my favorite comic artist to date, the...

X-Men: Curse of the Mutants- Storm & Gambit One-Shot 2

See, no offense to the lovely team behind X-Men, but after reading this book, I feel like this is the team that should be working on X-Men. Never in my life have I wanted for there to be more with a certain team than I did here. From the choice of characters that you never see paired together but have a great history all the way to the way the book made me look at the entire vampire war concept in a new light, this book succeeded in ways I can only hope X-Men can follow up on.   The issue opens...

So far, I've been enjoying Curse of the Mutants, and have generally been liking the X-books. This one shot as you know features popular X-men Storm and Gambit. Both of whom I like. For me the main problem was the art. It's not bad, it's just a little too anime-like for my taste. It didn't hurt the issue too much because it's a one shot, but I don't think I could stomach an on-going with interior art like this. I respect it and appreciate it's style, but it's just not for me. Story wise, if you'r...

    hope it gets better.... 0

Continuing the Curse of the Mutants, aka Vampire vs Mutants story arc comes this one shot featuring Storm and Gambit as they attempt to locate the body of Dracula so that the X-men may resurrect him in order to stop the vampire nation led by Dracula's son. Sound ridiculous? Thats because it pretty much is.Storm and Gambit are longtime X-men members and they themselves have a history of teaming up and friendship on account of them both being raised as theives. On this premise they are selected to ...

    Not Impressed 0

As a self-proclaimed Gambit and Storm fan, I was expecting alot out of this one-shot, but ultimately it ended up failing, epicly. The story starts off with our favorite duo heading towards a vampire island in order to retrieve the body of Dracula, however on there journey they stumble across many obstacles which make there journey quite difficult. Luckily they are aided by Dracula's own son Janus.  The concept of the story was actually a good one, and had alot of potential, but it didn't live up...

One of the worst comic books I have read in my entire life! 0

This book was insulting, specially to us Gambit fans. Gambit is one of the best (if not the best) thief of the entire Marvel Universe, how is it that he became Storm's sidekick??? If anything he was supposed to be there as mentor (as he once was)!  This felt like an episode of Pinky & the Brain: The dialogues were devoid of personality, and were painfully derivative. Bachalo's art is mediocre at best, this book looks like a children's book, and this is supposed to be a vampiric story! It at ...
