There's been some mumbling over the past few days about Fox following-up X-Men: Days of Future Past with an X-Force movie. Well, the odds of that happening just took a massive boost. The Hollywood Reporter posted an exclusive claiming Jeff Wadlow will write the team-up film. As you may know, Wadlow wrote and directed Kick-Ass 2 and he's currently writing the Bloodshot script, so he clearly has some experience when it comes to more graphic comic book material.

Will X-Men: Days of Future Past be used to introduce Cable and tease this film? We do know Warpath has a role in the upcoming movie, after all. Would they perhaps include Wolverine since he was on the latest roster, too? Only time will tell, but right now it definitely looks like Fox has big plans for the X-Men universe. And if they do include Cable, Stephen Lang seems like the obvious pick, right?

I can pretty much eliminate some sites suggestion that the Milligan X-Statix stuff is in the mix. An X-Force film is Cable. Is Deadpool.

Ill take an X-force film with either roster if Fox will start making comic movies for comic fans rather than radically changing the material to be what they think will make a blockbuster.

Also, unless Days of Future past reeeeally shakes things up and retains the The Last Stand, major modification of the source material is in order. The original x-force came alongside a thriving x-men team , and as it goes now in the x-movie universe most big name mutants are dead. The newer iteration came about as a black ops version of the normal team. There is really no normal team now. It could be cool, though, if they had storm create the black ops team to protect what's left of the school as it stands at the end of the last stand. That would be somewhat consistent with the theme of the remender team.

Also, forget "Psylocke" from The Last Stand and just throw her in as she is in the books. What an awesome character she would be to see if properly done on screen.

Either way, I hope this is true. I really hope it's R rated though, I don't want to see a watered down X-Force.

Wow, I hope this isn't overconfidence on the part of some people for what Days of Future Past may yield. In all truth I don't see how this could really be done unless there is going to be major exposure to Cable in next year's movie. Sure, I'd love it if it happened but I also want it to be done right.

Knowing FOX they will probably do the Wolverine X-Force teams and not the Cable team. If they do the Cable team there is no doubt they will throw in Wolverine anyways. But I hope to see Cannonball on the big screen!

Cable please, and the ass kicking more proactive original x-force or philosophy at least, that's my favorite version of the dream :) Cable rocks, but his backstory will be rough to cover I'd think.

Honestly, I don't trust Fox to do this right. I'd prefer an animated movie similar to Hulk vs. Wolverine. heck Yost and Kyle worked on that, so they could do the X-force cartoon as well. That'd be awesome.

But if they were to do this movie, they'd probably pull characters form all iterations, and maybe throw in some new one. I'd honestly be fine with that. I really want to see Archangel, but I don't know how that'd go down with out properly doing the Apocalypse story line, which needs to be a movie. What am I saying, JUST REBOOT THE WHOLE SERIES. If any franchise needs it it is this one.

I know there is a lot of hate for Cable. But I starting reading comics when Cable was first introduced. And I love properties based on time travel. Also presumably X-Men days of future past will have some form of time travel. Seems like it would be easy enough to tie Cable into the universe. More X-Men movies please :)

I would really love a X-Force film based on the reboot of x-force where Wolverine and Co. fight the Friends of Humanity and their ilk. Because it's about time someone made a totally obvious mutants as a metaphor for civil rights fight back with blood and guts (think gritter explotation fair).

This seems interesting, but depending on who they will cast, it might be difficult to introduce these characters without at least focusing on their backstories and Cable's backstory would be the most difficult to pull off since Cyclops wasn't done well in the franchise.

He is only 42. If Brad Pitt can still do action movies and he is actually almost 50 then North can do DP.
