As recent preview images have shown, Laura's going have an encounter with the FF, sometime Post-Schism shes going to have to make a choice, a choice that will change her life. 
 

I see her taking a break maybe meet up with her friends from Nyx, because being strictly an assassin seems like a step back BUT maybe wolverine will have her talk with Idie/Oya eh I want to see her spend maybe 2-3 issues with wolverine's  new team and then leave 
 
Though she would fit in with wolverine's new team since they will be a little relaxed on the kill if you must mentality and she might fit in more than prior and help her find a middle ground

I have no idea where it could lead.  X-23's story arc going on right now has her in New York and working with the FF, but also having allusions to the NYX kids being involved soon.  Perhaps she'll throw back in with them and the series will continue with Laura having her own little team to lead.  
 
I really don't know, but wherever it goes I shall read.  X-23 is a series I feel needs to be supported, and I absolutely love the character.

I agree completely, i think the best part for me is that i don't where her character is going but i trust that  Liu knows what she is doing for the character and that works for me.

with the unknowing, but as it seems, branching out into the Marvel Universe, which is were I want to see here. I loved her interactions with everyone in 
Marvel Team-Up. it kept things fresh for her.

Well, I know that Hellion is popping up in issue #17 as her love interest, so I assume she's probably going to choose being a regular teenager...I hope :o)

that cover caught me by surprise and my knee-jerk reaction was that X-23 just jumped the shark. 
but then I remembered Marjorie Liu was writing her stories, and I had a happy sigh of relief.  
 
my guess is that X-23 will have a chance to redeem something from her past with the Captain Universe powers. 
Hopefully, there should be an epic space battle there (with the FF involved). 
Then she'll have a character breakthrough which will make her an even more interesting character to read about.

I find it really hard to believe that Logan would ask her to become an assassin again, considering how hard she's trying to distance herself from that life. I've really enjoyed watching her become self-aware, and it would be so regressive for to become a killing machine again. Also, this is the only book where Gambit is written correctly.

I don't want her to get more or different powers. She's great the way she is. If she had to gain an ability on a permanent basis, I would prefer it was something melee based.

Hmm. I'm not sure I see it. X-Force felt like a big regression. Like she was more prop than character and going in the wrong direction. Liu seems to be developing the character along the expected arc. I know that ^___^   I hated how she demonised Cyclops for one thing, basically doing a Geoff Johns; ridding a protagonist of choice or responsibility by saying that their mistakes were all someone else's fault. That always irritates me.

Pretty picture, but I don't think I would care much if they made Laura a cosmic being. I'd still probably read her, but I'd definitely prefer her infinitely more as just the Claw-having, emotionally scarred, healing (close to?) street-leveler hat we know and love.
