Wonderworld Comics #5

This is the fifth issue in the series and you can really see the evolution of the comic.  It started out with nearly twenty different segments in each book.  There were many one page comics strips and pages about planes, stamps, celebrities, athletes, cowboys and so on.  Most of these are completely gone by this issue.  This means longer featured stories like the Flame.  This comic has no adds to speak of so it is filled with stories of adventure.

1. The Flame. In a nine page adventure the Flame fights crooked builders who's buildings are collapsing.  When the Flame steps in the hire Ripper Davis to take him out.  Ripper finds and captures the Flame and they attempt to do him in the building they are building but the Flame escapes and fights back.  The commotion shakes the building so bad it collapses on the crooked builders as the Flame makes a quick getaway.

2. 

   Yarko.  The eight page adventure takes place in a castle on the outside of London.  Yarko battles a man who can transform men into beastmen and tortures and murders people.  He is a madman with no motivation other than his own insanity.  
3. Shorty Shortcake.  Shorty is in trouble on a ship filled with crooks who want him dead and a crew that don't like him much. This six page adventure ends with Shorty making an ally with a big crewmen who puts an end to the death attempts.
4. Patty O'Day. In Patty's six page adventure she and Ham help recover secret United States documents that were retrieved by a sunken American Ship.
5. Dr. Fung. In this six page story Dr. Fung and Dan Barrister go deep into Malay looking for a woman who was lost a long time ago.  They find the woman all grown up with a tribe of ape-men.  Barrister and Fung fight their way out of the jungle.
   

6. 

   An Adventure with Tommy Taylor, His exciting exploits in the jungles of Africa.  Tommy Taylor is a crippled boy who goes on many adventures due to his imagination and reading.  In this adventure Tommy visits Africa and saves a little pygmy boy from being killed by a lion.
   
7. Tex Maxon. Tex Maxon helps stop some cattle rustlers and then almost pays the price when the come after him.  There is a shootout at the ranch and Tex manages to capture the whole gang.
8. Wonders That Are True.  Wonders That Are True is a page of odd curiosities.
9. Don Quixote in Modern Times.  In a two page comic strip Don Quixote goes on a movie set.  Don and Sancho Panza see a knightly movie being made and quickly interfere to the dismay of the director and actors.
10. K-51. In a five page story K-51 stops two assassination attempts.  He nearly dies as he derails his own train to save the King and Queen of England.  He is even honored by the President of the United States.
11. Mob Buster Robinson.  Robinson stops some smugglers who thought they had killed him.  Not only did Robinson fool them but he even blew up their boat after retrieving smuggled jewels off the ship and beating up everyone of the crew.
12. The Wonder Stamp Club.  The Wonder Stamp Club is a one page article about the Pegasus Stamp.
13. Movie Memos.  Movie Memos is a page of celebrity facts.
    
14. Spark Stevens. Spark and Chuck Lawton are on shore leave on Hawaii. There they find someone who is selling liqueur to the natives illegally.
