Wonder Woman
Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8808 issues.
The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

I think there should be a Wonder Boy...
Superman has Superboy and Supergirl
Batman has well Robin and Batgirl/Batwoman
Wonder Woman has Wondergirl... there should definitely be a Wonder Boy, or I will sue for sexism! lol

If done right it could seriously work. Maybe a good storyline involving the first ever male Amazon?

I'm a huge Wonder Woman fan and would love to see her supporting cast expanded. Especially with a male character. The problem is that I think I would be hard to create a good male sidekick to her. If not done right, he would be looked at as a joke.
First off, I don't think WonderBoy should ever be used as his codename. It just sounds silly and like something from the golden age ( which I actually think there was ).
Second, he needs a good costume. I don't think it should be forced into a WW look. She's her own character, and the image suits her. I don't feel it would translate well to a male. The red star spangled leotard is a no no... I can just hear the gay jokes now. Maybe a more casual take like Superboy's t-shirt and jeans with just hints of an actual costume. Stay away from over doing the stars.
Third, on the gay note. I don't think he should be a gay character. I don't have a problem with gay characters, but I feel a character like this is already going to be open to ridicule from the start.
Fourth, his origin should be tied to mythology somehow. I think it just suits this kind of character. Actually, as I type this, I realize that isn't really all that important. Wonder Woman already has a huge mythological supporting cast. Maybe a little diversity wouldn't hurt. Someone dealing in magic and the occult might be cool. Actually, if someone can create a character with a good mix of martial and magical skills that he can use in tandem, I think that would work best. Not too powerful on either front, so he has room to build on. He can eventually go on a quest to better himself by visiting different hero's and even villians throughout the DCU. Maybe aquire different artifacts. Maybe he can use the Gauntlets of Atlas to augment his strength along with different magics he can use while he's fighting. Just letting my mind flow... sorry.
Fifth, his look. Apart from his costume, he needs to have a distinctive look. maybe a Tim Drake build but with a magical power set. Late teens would work best I think. Or he could be some mix of a human and a creature of myth, but nothing too drastic. Just a few charateristics like maybe "small" horns or glowing eyes or something. Maybe some kind of colored scales, but just a little. Kind of like some characters have a distinctive scar, tattoo or mark but it would be scales. Like Psylockes old crimson scar. No big wings or tails... unless he conjures them up temporarily.
I could go on and on with the brain storming, but this gives you an idea of what I would want to see happen with a WW male side kick
When I was younger I loved Wonder Woman. So I created a character called Wonder Boy because I didn't want to play as a girl. He was washed onto the shore of Themiscira. They helped him so he wouldn't die, and it was about time to send him off but they though that they could use him, train him, see if they could put their ways on a man. So they trained him, and after a long time he got tired of being there and left the island and when their.
I always pictured his outfit a shirt that had an egal and jeans.
" These could work too, depending on whether you want an Hercules-type mythologically rooted character or a more contemporary version.I think a design like this might work.
The bracelets don't look nearly as bad as I thought. In fact, they're kinda like wrist bands. "
The way WW's bracelets and tiara work as weaponised female accessories makes me think that maybe you could empower male accessories instead.
Instead of bracelets, use wristbands. You could use a headband instead of a tiara like WW, but I do not think that is necessary - even Cassie and Donna don't do that.

Unlike Steve Trevor, he is a young boy, so they would feel bad killing him or sending him away when they could just train his juvenile young mind. =)
I like the idea. And I think his costume should be real casual like Wonder Girl or Superboy. I also think it would be cool if his origin tied into greek mythology too.

Personally, I think it would take away the whole independent woman look that Wonder Woman has going for her. :)
Why would it take away from the independent woman look, I see that it'd only add to it. That Independent women aren't men haters, they're just as empowered as men is all. Which is quite a common misconception that I think a Wonder Boy would correct.
in azzarellos current run he introduced the brothers of the amazons working for hephaestus. I had an idea where one of them could be introduced as a wonder boy character. It could work too because he could have access to weapons or perhaps other greek artefacts hephaestus may have. Just a thought i had not sure if any one thought it could be interesting. I feel it would make sense for one of them to not want to work and want to rebel anyways.
@Greggh: That's exactly what I was thinking too. Though Heph doesn't seem the type to foster rebelliousness. He's all about love and nurture and equipping people with badass weaponry. He might even support the one of the boys.
@Press Oblivion: Ya it would be even better if he was supportive i think. I feel like there needs to be something different about him though other wise all of his brothers could fill his place...... Also for those who think its not good for wonder woman's independence i think it could be great. Im not sure but i feel a female mentor of a male is rarely done in comics. This could showcase what an independent woman's wisdom and abilities to teach..... I would also love to see this wonderboy get teased by another young hero for having a woman as his mentor and then use wonder woman's teachings to put him in his place haha.
I think it's a good idea! I also wouldn't mind him being gay, kinda like a equivalent to Marvel's Wiccan. :)
He should look more like this: http://lucianovecchio.deviantart.com/art/Who-is-Wonder-Boy-409506856
Can't really think of a single reason why this this should be a good idea or why it should happen. Especially since Diana is far more disconnected from both Cassandra and Donna than Bats and Supes are from their sidekicks.
@outside_85: Now I'm not saying it should happen, in fact I would be against it but there really isn't a reason for it not to happen.

I'll admit I am in the same camp as you for the most part. But I am of the opinion that just because the option is there, that doesn't mean it should be taken.
Like, I get why LGBT characters have a place, as do characters of color. The issue with Wonder Boy, is that if he is neither of those, then whats the point of his existence? To prove boys and young men can be mentored and inspired by a woman? (...Actually, that might not be such a bad idea...)
Ok my idea might be terrible.....................Azz introduced manazons into the WW comics........as we all know they dead now...................but what if by some godlike miracle a little boy managed to escape and is hiding on paradise island/themyscira (you may call it what ever you want) ...........and diana finds him.......the others want to kill him.....and shes like no way you can't so on and so on..........................just my crazy idea...................................also in terms of what he should look like.....something that screams wonder woman but with a masculine edge
