    Wonder Woman

Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8808 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

Does Wonder Woman need a overhaul?

I'm not taking any parts in this. I just want to know how the rest of the fans feel.

Not an overhaul, just better writers.

not really i think she needs someone who really undersands her character(particularly marston) and her mythology and work on it and play around with it, someone who can bring all the pieces together and sorta modernize it and give new writers a great base to build on for the character. but at this point im sorta tired of talking about this over and over so as of now im just looking for a good story

On this point, we agree to an extent. I believe that Marston's concepts for the character needs to be brought back and modernized (e.g. all of her weaknesses, Aphrodite's Law, lasso effective against her, Dr. Psycho's powers effective against her, and Wonder Woman generally using her wits to escape lots of great predicaments; however, at the bottom of it, there's really only one real weakness the villains are exploiting, her compassion for the people around her).

We need to focus of really building her rogues in great detail, particularly Dr. Psycho, and writers directed to focus on them in place of bringing in their own villains.

Toshio Maeda, Alan Moore, any comic book writer who would agree, because I’m directing, or me.

Artist: Tough one, I’d have a contest to see who I like of various artist, but, the artist’s work would have to be in the mode of Ed Benes, Terry Dodson, or 90s Mike Deodato

    Storyline: Settling Into Man’s World

Representing: Amazons (specific characters named as the story evolves), Hippolyta, Diana (Wonder Woman), Dr. Psycho, Creature from Doom’s Doorway (specific characters named as the story evolves), Extraterrestrials (specific characters named as the story evolves), Everyday Boys, Men, Girls, and Women (characters named as the story evolves)

Setting: Paradise Island, Gateway City, Doom’s Doorway, Mars like planet (In the spirit of Dejah Thoris, where Dr. Psycho, Creatures from Dooms Doorway, and Extraterrestrials control), other planetary outposts

Although this is the first 12 introductory issues, this story can take up 48 to 96 issues, possibly more, if necessary; this is intended to be a new defining story that re-boots Wonder Woman back to the Marston style; however, it takes a little from other writers who have written Wonder Woman, as well. The Amazons are more in the spirit of the Azzarello run and Amazons Attack, although there have been drastic changes. I’ve already started this story, but, the full first block of this story would take up too many characters, so, I may introduce pieces in several posts.

Origin: The story begins with Dr. Psycho working in his lab, with his various partner scientists, engineers, and technicians, building some type of flying device that can travel into other dimensions and achieve galactic space flight. Dr. Psycho is trying to perfect it to work out all of the bugs. So, Dr. Psycho takes it for a test flight, one day. Dr. Psycho takes it on a test flight, when it arrives on the Mars like planet that he designates DT27. Dr. Psycho returns back to his lab with success, so far; he returns to DT27, spends approximately 6 months learning about the planet, and forges allies and enemies, because he has superhuman strength and his speed is heightened on the planet; Dr. Psycho has very strong psychic powers, already; by the time Dr. Psycho leaves the planet, he’s already drastically changed the socioeconomic environment of the planet in certain locations. Next, Dr. Psycho uses it to arrive inside Doom’s Doorway, while testing out his dimensional drive. Although he is met with hostility, he manages to forge allies and enemies there; although he gets stuck there for 3 months, he feels like he’s been there for 30 years, because time works differently there; Dr. Psycho was able to survive in the initial time by using his psychic powers; Dr. Psycho has also survived by manipulating certain negative attributes of the creatures residing there, which allowed him to forge allies and enemies; soon, Dr. Psycho meets and becomes an ally of Dalkriig-Hath, a Prince of Satan; Dr. Psycho convinces Dalkriig-Hath to return him to his craft and repair it, in return for an opportunity to operate in Gateway City and on DT27; Dr. Psycho has to hide an urn somewhere in his lab, as an anchor for Dalkriig-Hath and his minions; Dr. Psycho convinces Dalkriig-Hath to keep a low profile, so that he is not detected by the Angel Gabriel who will cast him and his minions back through Doom’s Doorway; this is mostly done, by Dalkriig-Hath choosing to mostly operate on DT27. Dalkriig-Hath and Dr. Psycho have to meet periodically, as a part of the deal the Dalkriig-Hath required of Dr. Psycho, for, if Gabriel ever casts Dalkriig-Hath back through Doom’s Doorway, it will reverse time for Dr. Psycho and place him back with Dalkriig-Hath; unknown to Dr. Psycho, Dalkriig-Hath has adulterated the dimensional drive portion of his craft. Dr. Psycho discovers that he has been missing for only 3 months, when he’s surprised to find his lab still intact; his partners tell him that his craft always read functional, and, he’d stayed on DT27 for 6 months; Dr. Psycho describes his experience to his partners, so, they set out to make design changes to his craft. However, in order to work out the bugs, Dr. Psycho has to go on another test flight; not knowing that Dalkriig-Hath has done something to the craft, it crash lands on Paradise Island, during the test flight; Dr. Psycho is left critically injured inside the craft. The Amazons converge onto the craft. This is the end of about the first 3 issues.

The Amazons see Dr. Psycho in the crashed craft; they notice that he’s male. Dr. Psycho resembles Quasimodo from the Hunchback of Notre Dome; he's somewhere between 5'8'' to 6'2'', and about 180 to 200 pounds. The Amazons are confused about his appearance, because they only remember the appearance of men from distant memories and legends. Because he’s a man, the Amazons debate with one another about whether they should kill Dr. Psycho and cremate his body. Diana and Hippolyta soon arrive to the crash site. Hippolyta settles the dispute and decides that Dr. Psycho should be brought back to health and returned to Man’s World.

Hippolyta explains that this is an ugly and deformed man to the Amazons; Hippolyta knows this, because she visits Man's World from time to time to keep track of it’s cultural and technological development; when she visits, she arrives to Gateway City; on one of these visits, about 28 years ago, Hippolyta meets a handsome man and they fall in love; they sleep together over the course of several weeks; soon, Hippolyta becomes pregnant; having conflicted feelings of love and disdain for this man, Hippolyta leaves him and returns to Paradise Island, while he’s sleeping. Hippolyta tells the other Amazons that she needs to seek revelation in her palace and that she is not to be disturbed. Soon, Hippolyta gives birth to a baby girl who she names Diana; she discusses this development with Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena; so, the 4 of them invent the clay origin for Diana; Hippolyta emerges from her palace to tell the Amazons that the gods have gifted her with a baby. Aphrodite’s law apply for the Amazons and especially for Diana, being half Amazon, half human. Unknown to the Amazons, drinking the liquid and fluid in Paradise Island, and eating from some species of vegetation on the island has gifted them with immortality, superhuman strength, and superhuman speed. When an Amazon such as Hippolyta leaves the island, her immortality disappears and she gets a very long lifespan; although she retains superhuman strength and speed, it goes down considerably, when she leaves Paradise Island; if an Amazon faces someone who can nearly match her strength and speed, abilities are greatly diminished, after every battle. After so many battles, she gets the strength and lifespan of a normal woman. If the Amazon arrives back to Paradise Island and eat the food and drink on the island, at her lowest, she will get the highest upgrade in superhuman strength and speed; however, facing the least battles will leave the Amazon with the smallest upgrade in strength and speed, but, she will still be stronger than when she left; Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena conceals this fact from the Amazons, however, to maintain the rule that the Amazons should stay on the Island.

Having never seen a man before, and only knowing them from the legends taught by the Amazons, Diana is curious and fascinated by Dr. Psycho. Diana visits the chamber where the Amazon nurses and doctors are caring for Dr. Psycho, over the course of several days. She watches, as Dr. Psycho’s injuries start to heal. The Amazon nurses and doctors are always plotting how to kill Dr. Psycho and make his death look like he just never recovered, as he’s a man, given that Hippolyta ordered them to nurse Dr. Psycho back to heath. On day 17, Dr. Psycho regains consciousness, and notices that he’s being cared for by a beautiful, tall, athletic, blonde woman, in a costume that resembles the robes the Amazons wear in ancient Greece, with sandals as footwear. Dr. Psycho can barely move; Dr. Psycho attempts to use his psychic powers on the Amazon to no avail. Speaking in a slow, sluggish voice, Dr. Psycho lustfully comments about the Amazon’s blonde hair and beauty, to ask where am I. The Amazon is surprised and angered by Dr. Psycho regaining consciousness; by some means, Dr. Psycho and the Amazons can understand one another's languages. The Amazon races away from the chamber. Diana arrives into the chamber and Dr. Psycho lustfully comments about her dark black hair and beauty, asking her about his whereabouts. Diana is surprised and startled to realize that Dr. Psycho has regained consciousness. Quivering and nervously, Diana explains to Dr. Psycho that he was found and brought in this room to be healed and prepared to return back from whence he came. Their conversation is interrupted with the sound of talking and footsteps that sent Diana running away from the chamber. Hippolyta arrives to the chamber with a couple of Amazon nurses, doctors, and guards, when she explains to Dr. Psycho that his health is being restored and his ship repaired so that he can be escorted away from the island; Dr. Psycho lustfully comments about Hippolyta’s and all of the Amazons’ beauty, in response, thanks them for their help, and asks Hippolyta about his whereabouts; Hippolyta explains that we are the Amazons and that you’re on our island; Hippolyta also threatens Dr. Psycho to never return or he would be destroyed, along with his craft. Hippolyta than stations guards outside his chamber, leaves another nurse to care for Dr. Psycho, as the prior nurse had threatened to kill Dr. Psycho, and leaves. Because the IV had liquid from Paradise Island coursing through Dr. Psycho’s veins, Dr. Psycho’s psychic abilities were increased exponentially and he also gained psychokinesis and telekinesis abilities, although he did not know. However, these abilities will not show until about a year later, once Dr. Psycho's abilities start to return gradually due to his injuries in the crash.

Hippolyta than announces that a contest would be held to see which Amazon will escort Dr. Psycho back to Man’s World. End of this chapter or chapters.

@dshipp17: I don't much care for one of her human villains playing such a pivotal role in her becoming WW. I think Pscyho is much more interesting as he was originally created.
