    Wonder Woman

Character » Wonder Woman appears in 8805 issues.

The Amazon princess, blessed with god-like super abilities, Wonder Woman is one of Earth's most powerful defenders of peace, justice, and equality and a member of the Justice League. She is considered an archetype for many heroines outside of comic book. Her initial origin depicted her as a clay baby brought to life by patron goddess Aphrodite, but in recent years she has been depicted as the daughter of Zeus and Amazon queen Hippolyta.

Azzarello's WW story is actually somewhat like Breaking Bad

1). Not story wise but in the writing. Both of the stories move at its own pace. Just as Breaking Bad can take a episode or two to focus more on the characters then the story Azzarello takes a few comic issues to focus on learning about Diana and the people around her.

2). Diana and Walt are both one of the most complex characters. People don't see it because they don't try to delve into her character but I have and she's one of the most intriguing heroes I've ever read about. There's too much to go into here but if you guys want me to post a character analysis on Diana I can.

3). They both have strong constant supporting casts. A great story is only as good as the characters inside of them and these two have an supporting cast that compliment each other immensely.

4). The smaller story arcs all make up one huge story arc that the creators have been building towards the whole time.

5). The emphasis on family in both stories. Walt did all this horrible stuff for his "family" and lost then in the end. Diana on the other hand lost her family and became closer to her new family.

I realize it's strange comparing a comic to a tv show but the similarities in writing are great. Especially between two very different stories. I can either be really wrong or really right.

@agent41: Oh her new 52 character is very complex and also very developed from beginning to end. Along with a lot of other characters. I can't go into it here but I could post it somewhere else.

I don't see any big similarity other than I really like both. I would also never use the word "complex" to describe Wonder Woman in this run, I think she's charmingly simple and lacks development.

I agree with you on the complexity point ... I don't watch BB so I can't speak to that ... but many fans want more action in the story and thus find the Azz run to be slow. I personally love the way he's doing the solo series and will be very sad when it concludes in October. I hope the new writers don't just go for sensationalization and all action all the time.
