I mean, Wolverine is supposed to have an adamantium skeleton, every bone is made of adamantium, right? then why does he only have 3 claws, when he has 5 fingers? I mean he can retract and extract one claw at a time, but why does he have 3? he should've had 5 claws. can someone explain?

The claws are an extra set of bones in his hand that are stored in his forearms. They're not extension of his hand/finger bones, thus why their number isn't related to his amount of fingers.

Well it's because they are just extra set of bones which are between his knuckles. And there is only space for three claws.

Because he was mutated that way. Deal with it.

1. Because the claws are not mounted on the tips of his fingers like those of the X-2 Lady Deathstrike.
2. Because the human hand only has three spaces between the knuckles.

They only come out through his knuckles in the movies. In the comic, they come out from sheathes on the top of his hands.

He was born that way... his claws are part of him. They didn't add claws to him when they covered his bones in metal his claws are just covered in metal. It's like saying "Why does Tony Stark have brown hair?"

His claws also don't come out of his fingers so the number of fingers he has is irrelevant.

Because he only has three bone claws to sit the adamantium on.
