Marvel announced today a new seven issue mini-series spinning out of September's Death of Wolverine story line called DEATH OF WOLVERINE: THE LOGAN LEGACY. Charles Soule will be writing the first and last issues of this limited series and the series will go over how Wolverine's loss affects the Marvel universe.

Writer Charles Soule had this to say about the upcoming mini-series, which will focus on those who were close to Wolverine in one aspect or another, like X-23, Sabretooth, Daken, and others:

Think of the DEATH OF WOLVERINE as an inciting event, one thing that has seismic-level effects on the lives of a great deal of the Marvel Universe. We'll start in THE LOGAN LEGACY by examining those effects on people close to Wolverine, but over time, we'll range far and wide to see what sort of black hole Logan's death actually leaves.

The event will start in October and run seven issues before coming to a close in December. Here's the schedule, the covers for issues #1-3, and creative teams for the upcoming mini-series:

Are Wolverine and X-23 actually close? The only time I actually think I seen them speak is in X-Force.

Yes. He sees her as a daughter. He hasn't spoken to her much because he was trying to distance her from the world he lives in but they both genuinely care for one another. She was only on X-Force because Cyclops ordered it.

Wolverine hasn't spoken with Jubilee in years but they are extremely close.

    SPOILER ALERT:

Wolverine makes a suit of armor thatt copies the powers of all the X-Men and tests the Wolverine family by fighting them in cognito, the armor, let's call it the "Outsider suit" will later be heavily wanked in comicbook battle forums.

Yeah what's up with that? It's like Marvel thinks that to write a good Wolverine story they need to hire DC/Batman writers. Don't get me wrong, I like all the writers on this project and they're all wayyyyyy better writers than Cornell.

What? You saying "So?" makes no sense. I proved that you were wrong in saying that "Wolverine hasn't spoken to Jubilee in years" by stating the fact that they just interacted 6 issues ago and seemed as close as ever. So? So you're wrong in saying that it's been years when it's been 6 months in real time and less than a week ago in comic book time.

Wolverine hadn't spoken to Jubilee in years. I gave no specific range of time, so I am wrong about nothing. He actually spoke to her earlier than the issue you referenced, Mr. Pretentious. Once again, he spoke with her in Origins. But I guess you were too busy trying to seem intelligent to notice that, eh?

Do you remember how about a month or so ago you posted that you feared Marvel would pull off a Battle of the Cowl story for Wolverine and I said I highly doubt they would? After seeing this, I'm starting to think you were on point.

Wrong again. You are hard pressed to prove a statement wrong when you clearly don't even understand what was being said. Wolverine hadn't talked to Jubilee in years. That remains true even though you referenced a recent time in which they had spoken. You were wrong about when he had talked to her to interrupt that lack of communication. So the only one wrong here is you. I love new comic readers. They read a few issues of a new series and think they know everything under the sun about a character but only succeed in making themselves look like a fool.

Once again, he spoke with her in Origins. But I guess you were too busy trying to seem intelligent to notice that, eh?

Ok... you just proved yourself wrong. That's all I was doing buddy, proving your initial statement wrong. So you can keep trying to insult me but the fact remains that you were wrong. It's really not that big of a deal. Live with it and move on.

Look at you still trying as hard as you can to insult me just to try to save a little face. Oh and that's hilarious calling me a new comic reader as I've been reading comics since 1991. Just because I'm fairly new to posting on this site doesn't mean that I'm new to comics. So keep being wrong buddy you seem to be really good at it..

@erik: He actually spent some decent amount of time talking with Jubilee in the all - female X - Men title when it started (it was issue 2 or 3) but that's the last time I saw it. That was probably a little less than a year ago.

    Irrelevant. Origins predates All-Female X-Men.

who cares ....really guys? so wolverine spoke to jubilee ...woop de doo daaaa ...a year ago, six months ago ...years ago? ..whatever it took like 20 years for jubilee to age from 13 to 17 ...who knows what the continuity is exactly... this war of words is hilarious... exchange phone numbers and call each other lol

    • I don't have to try very hard at all. You make it exceedingly easy, what with you posting factual inaccuracies like you were quoting from the Bible.
    • If you had been reading since '91, you might have avoided posting such foolishness. Alas...
    • I wasn't going by your post count. I estimated how long you have been reading comics based on your knowledge of the characters. Since your pool of knowledge is shallow, I assumed your experience reading was comparable. I suppose it's possible that you have been reading for years but then that would imply that you don't actually understand what you are reading. I guess some people would find a lot of joy in looking at the pictures alone...
    • I have already shown how your claim that I am wrong is a big, fat lie. Until you find a way to delete my posts exposing such a lie, no one will be fooled.
