Wolverine gets married, and Sabretooth is right on cue to spoil yet another special day. See how (and why) Wolverine and Viper say “I do!” in their marriage of crime and convenience.

In the catacombs beneath Madripoor's Princess Bar, after being released from the Viper's control, Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde), Phoenix, Rogue, Psylocke, Jubilee, Jessica Drew, Tyger Tiger and Yukio are gathered around Logan and Viper. They stand there aghast as Logan repeats his statement: Viper is his wife. Jubilee and Phoenix express their disbelief and outrage, and shortly, the women, all except for Kitty, leave.

Later, Logan explains to Kitty that he must honor a vow he made to Seraph, the previous owner of the Princess Bar. She had seen him through a particularly difficult time, so he was indebted to her. At this point, Viper was a mercenary who had aided them in a gunfight which left Seraph mortally wounded. She made Logan vow to give Viper whatever she desired. She chose Logan.

Unknown to the pair, a team of killers from both Hydra and the Hand are gathering nearby for an attempt on Logan's life, but they are eliminated by Sabretooth.

That evening, at the clifftop estate of Madripoor's late prince, the ceremony to make the marriage official is about to take place. In attendance are the bride and groom, the officiant and Kitty. With little fanfare, the couple are wed, but without warning, Sabretooth appears and kills the officiant. He takes a vicious swipe at Viper, but Kitty is there to make her intangible. Nonetheless, the savage blow still causes Viper extreme pain. Kitty gets her into the palace to safety while Logan and his nemesis brawl.

Despite Sabretooth's healing factor exhibiting increased speed, Logan seems to gain the upper hand and he presses his advantage. As they tumble into a pool, Kitty watches from a balcony above, trying to puzzle out why Viper felt pain while phased. She recalls a Danger Room session early in her time with the X-Men when Wolverine's claws had passed through her phased form. She had felt intense pain, attributing it to the density of the adamantium his skeleton was then laced with.

As Logan rises from the pool, hauling up his foe's limp figure, Kitty's realization hits her and she shouts a warning to Logan, albeit, too late. Sabretooth leaps to his feet, having feigned unconsciousness, and begins to savagely slash at Logan. He boastfully confirms what Kitty had deduced: his skeleton is now augmented with adamantium.

He continues his assault, breaking off all of Logan's claws, and is about to deliver a lethal blow, when Kitty phases Logan out of the way. She manages to roll his unconscious body over the edge of the cliff into the sea below, but having just passed through Sabretooth's adamantium bones, she remains tangible and at the mercy of his next slash.
