Movie » Wes Craven's New Nightmare released on October 14, 1994.

The seventh film of its series, it has a twist based on metafiction. Freddy Krueger is only a fictional character and the cast and crew of the original film are celebrating its tenth anniversary. However Freddy has been given life of his own and comes to haunt the dreams of his creators.

    Interesting twist

Wes Craven's New Nightmare has its ups and its downs. It is an exciting, entertaining and new take on the classic Dream Slasher. It is set up like it is the real world and they finished the movie Freddy's Dead. The actress who plays Nancy is the lead character in this film. She gets caught up in Freddy's nightmarish antics which seems impossible since Freddy is just a character in her movies but it eventually appears to be true as Freddy murders her husband who works on special effects for the Nightmare films. It seems that Freddy is targeting everyone who worked on his film. The story is kinda stupid because Freddy haunts them all seemingly because the script writers make a new story which is the current movie you are watching which doesn't really make sense at all how did they get a fictional character in their world to come into a real world setting it's like Freddy wants them to make more movies about him so he has fans or something stupid like that. That is the negative about the film. The positive part is that there is no ridiculous killing techniques such as Super Freddy or the Video Game Dream. I consider this to be one of the better Freddy Kruger films. It actually suprised me at one part or made me jump alittle in this unlike most of his films. Sweet dreams.
