Depressing to know Pak wont be writing the September issues. My enthusiasm just faded significantly.

@captainmarvel4ever: All but in name, he was still doing his superheroics with his shrinking belt

@jonny_anonymous: Yeah but now he'll have the suit and the identity, which makes it way cooler, and more heroish :)

....to write Superman, but please keep him away from Batman. Pak has Superman's voice down, but he has yet to find Batman's voice IMO. He writes Batman as if he's either an ornery old man or an unemotional drone. He had Bruce show almost no emotion at all when he met his daughter from a parallel universe. And he doesn't write Bruce and Clark as friends. Everything Superman says, Pak has Batman say something like, "You're an idiot Clark." I know they're not buddies like they were pre-New 52 but Pak writes them like as if Batman dislikes Superman. If people want to see how Superman and Batman should interact, read Snyder's Superman Unchained. The brief interaction between the two in Unchained is better than anything that has come out of Batman/Superman.

Yeah, Ray Palmer was doing sciency stuff for S.H.A.D.E. in the Frankenstein book. His shrinking tech means S.H.A.D.E. headquarters is a tiny sphere hovering over Washington DC. But no, he hasn't appeared as The Atom.

One of the top writers at DC, or anywhere really. He and Charles Soule are the bomb, everything they touch is gold in my eyes.

Yeah, totally true. One thing I'm deeply exhausted by is the antagonism between Batman and Superman. I really don't see how anyone can see them as friends anymore with the flood of the exact opposite for the pass 30 years but Loeb did an fantastic job countering that in his run because they bickered all the time, special treatment was given and really only cared about what each other said. Plus you felt like they really did know each other better than damn near anyone and liked each other. Now Bruce acts like he's peeling his own skin off being in Clark's presence all the time. However, Pak gets Superman though. That's much more rare and impressive to me so I'm totally willingly to forgo any friendship with Batman.

He wrote Earth 2 Superman and Batman exactly like pre 52 times. But honestly I could care less if they get along, I like that they both are kinda jerks to each other in the early years, honestly how could someone be friends right away with a guy who is always carrying Kryptonite in his pocket and is planning on ways to take him down because he thinks you will one day go rouge, kind of insulting if you ask me. Its a slow build up to a bromance and much like the Lois and Clark relationship they don't wanna go back to it write away after having years of it. As for the Snyder thing, my dislike for that book is legendary. Superman is never happy and always serious or pissed. So in reality it's the exact opposite of how you feel for Pak. You say he can't write Batman, well Snyder can't write Superman (well an interesting one).

Great interview! Loving Action Comics. I can't wait to see all the cool stuff that will soon follow!

The Con probably told them they had to use the lanyards they provided (i.e. the LoL guys paid good money to make everyone wear their lanyards).
