    History

Dawn Middlebury was recruited by veteran professional wrestler, Auntie Freeze, into the female division of the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation, the Grapplers. This second generation of members was dubbed as the New Grapplers, which caused some tension between the original group and the new members. As Vavavoom, Middlebury's in-ring gimmick seemed to be centered on her looks.

She was first seen helping some other members of the Grapplers' locker room, including Gladiatrix and Cowgirl, restrain Titania after losing a match to Battleaxe. When The Thing was accused of murdering Titania, Vavavoom and the rest of the Grapplers attacked him. It was with arrival of Ms. Marvel that he was cleared of all accusations.

While it is assumed that Vavavoom was sent with the other Grapplers and UCWF locker room to kill the Thing and Ms. Marvel rather than expose the UCWF's connection to the Power Broker, she was not depicted on panel.

    Creation

Vavavoom was created by Mike Carlin and Ron Wilson in 1986 and first appeared in The Thing # 33. Her name was revealed in the Grapplers entry in The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe #5 - Gardener To The Hulk.

    Powers

Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation hires exclusively superhuman talent, and Vavavoom met at least the company's minimal requisite of being able to lift (press) two tons. Similarly, she was proficient in professional wrestling skills.
