I know this thing !
This is an action sequence issue done right. Spider-man, with the little experience he has, needs to step in to save his father from the menace that is the new Venom. Although the whole issue is a big fight scene, Bendis manages to incorporate in that action scene important plot points and good moments. The consequences of the fight, the emotions Miles get overwhelmed with and the mistake Ganke makes are some important elements of the issue since they add flavor to a basic fight between two meta humans. Added to that, since this issue focuses a lot on the visuals, it is imperative to have a good artist, which is why Pichelli fits that role perfectly. As usual, her panel are impeccably well made where they concentrate on detail, especially with this Venom which she draws with perfection. I'm glad she came back on board (no disrespect to the two other artists who made a great job too).
On a personal side note, I just love Ganke as a supporting character. He's very devoted to help his friend which proves he has a big heart. I'm always happy to see him helping out our fragile Miles.
The bad:
Nothing bad in this issue.
So what's the verdict?
The Venom war continues to excel in quality. From good moments concerning a good action scene to the greatly done art, we have a story that keeps the reader intrigued. A lot of questions are still not answered which brings this series very much more interesting.
