Tyler Nixon

Creation

Tyler Nixon was created by Joe Quesada for the series NYX. He is the older brother to Kiden Nixon. Ty would often sell drugs to Kiden and her friends.

Character History

Tyler Nixon grew up in Alphabet City, Manhattan, and was raised by his parents Nick and Liz Nixon with his younger siblings Kiden and Danny Nixon. When his father Nick, a police office, was killed in a drive-by which was witnessed by Kiden, Tyler's family began a downward spiral. As a young adult Tyler became a drug dealer, often selling drugs to his younger sister Kiden and her friends.

Kiden eventually ran away from home - a result of a bad environment at home and her newly-awakened mutant powers. Some time later, she made an attempt to return home. Ty, while trying to look hardcore in front of a friend, informed her that their life had changed for the better after she left, and she walked away saddened to return to the streets. Afterward, Ty appeared to regret turning her away.

While on the streets, Kiden ended up befriending Laura Kinney, who was being hunted by her pimp Zebra Daddy. In an attempt to find Laura, Zebra Daddy enlisted the help of a mutant named Bobby Soul, who had the power to possess people and gather information from their mind. Bobby possessed and interrogated Ty for information of Kiden due to her association with Laura. After he got the information he needed, Bobby gave Ty a black eye "for being a crappy brother."

The Nixon family - and Liz, who had remarried - moved to Long Island in search of a better life, though Liz never gave up on finding Kiden. Unbeknownst to the family, Kiden sent them a letter, but it did not arrive before they left.
