    The story begins with the Skymarine streaking through the skies. Sock Jones, the famous boy inventor, is taking his cousin, Pippa Parker, to see an amazing new Futuronics project. Sock has a project to obtain electricity through harnessing the tremendous power of lightning. Sock shows Pippa underground silos that will house revolutionary new types of storage batteries of enormous capacity. Sock also wants to try an idea to stop tornadoes.
