Judd Shepard had always wanted to be a detective or a spy. Unlike other Theta Virus victims, his powers manifested themselves slowly in his early teens. In the early stages, Judd found himself drawn to scenes of police activity or crimes in progress. He soon discovered that he had a psyhic "sense of smell" and could track down danger wherever it may lie.
Once he joined the Exiles team, Dr. Rachel Deming rigged an electronic device which amplifies his abilities.
