    Tom the Bug is an anthropomorphic insect from the Fantagraphics series Poot.

    Creation

    Tom was created by Walt Holcombe.

    Character Evolution

    Tom is a friend of Snail, and the pair live together in a house built into the hollowed out trunk of a tree. He is also the on-off partner of Eppie. While he does love Eppie, and is shown to dream of being with her, Tom is reluctant to admit this, or to enter into a relationship with her. He does not trust her, and fears that she will hurt him.
