Now, I always thought that without Mjolnir, Thor's strength is that of an average Asgardian if not a little more. But, I recently picked up Avengers-prime which clearly shows Thor leaping into the air and taking fafnir (I think) down by the mouth. I didn't know Thor had that strength without Mjolnir or did I miss something?

Thor without Mjolnir is nearly as strong as Hercules and is much stronger than anyone else in his tier or lower in the Marvel universe. In a more comical way of describing it, Thor can lift anything and everything the plot needs for him to do.

and the rest is his powers

    strength is same

but mjolnir makes his striking power stronger

Thor's strength is unaffected by his hammer and has no known set limits. His strength level is deus ex machina. He is a type of character that if a writer wishes to show tapping deep from within mentally or emotionally enough, he can lift anything, and be reasonably consistent character wise. His hammer does not augment his strength.

    This.

Also; Thor's strength is his own physical power. It does not come from and is not contingent upon his hammer.

Thor is roughly the same strength as Hulk and Herc

although Hercules has better feats as a more skilled fighter and the Hulk can amp his base strength by rage, the angrier Hulk gets the stronger and stronger he becomes.

Hi fans and lovers of Thor. I have always read that Thor can control the weather without the use of Mjolnir. Yet I have never seen any scans from canon where this was done. If anyone cares enough to do so, could you please provide scans that shows this? Thanks. :D

Thor is above Class 100 and wears A belt given to him
By Odin which doubles it, effectively giving him unlimited strength.

Thanks for the link. I could be wrong, but the only scan that I saw him without Mjolnir using his powers were with Storm and that is not canon. You were not talking about that pic were you???? I was interested in seeing a weather feat without the use of Mjolnir that is canon.

OH ok... So maybe I'm confused so please forgive me in advance, but how is this question more relevant to Storm vs. Thor, when I am not even asking about Storm??? Just curious???

@butterflykyss: You can usually find tangent conversations about the weather in threads like that, not usually in places regarding Thor's super-strength. However, if the question doesn't generate an answer, then you know. I never saw Thor manipulate the weather without Mjolnir.

Yes I understand that. However, this was this closest thing on Thor's page that seemed to talk to the question I was looking to answer and I didn't want to create an unnecessary thread. But thanks for you help :)

False."Thor is physically the strongest of the Norse gods and one of the most powerful beings in the Universe. His feats include easily lifting a million tons, crumbling uru metal(what his hammer is comprised of) into dust with his bare hands, shattering the force field of the Silver Surfer with a single strike, knocking out Namor while in the rain, bringing the Juggernaut to his knees with two blows, beating Hercules in a arm wrestling match, stalemating Savage Hulk's strength for an entire hour(even though Hulk was getting stronger and stronger and still unable to overpower Thor) defeating the Gladiator in 60 seconds with nothing but his fists, lifting the Midgard Serpent, who was so large it could coil itself around Earth several times over and crush it in within its grip, overpowering cosmic entities when pressed in battle and phyically destroying stars and planets with his own strength alone. Thor is also capable of entering into a state of Berserker Rage known as Warrior's Madness, which will temporarily increase his strength tenfold but will only do so in desperate situations because it threatens his sanity."

That feat is so ridiculous it doesn't even make sense -__-

I know it doesn´t make sense, but that is not the point...

I think Herc would be useless if he was weaker than thor, so "they" made him the strongest deity, but that is that, it doesn´t mean that he can beat thor or anything...

But there is no solid proof he's stronger than Thor, so i don't understand why people keep saying that. And Herc is only slightly better in hand to hand combat. Slightly.
