@thorthunder98: Pity though, the whole mythology is ripe for a truly epic onscreen presentation over the course of several films. Maybe someone at some point in the future will realize that and we'll see a saga to rival any other.

Seems like an odd choice but I'm guessing there was something about him they really liked.

Cheaper to hire than Peter Jackson. :-D

I have always felt that whilst the last two films had impressive sets and costume design, there was too much of Marvel Studio's safe formulaic approach. The result is too much of a candy floss polished film lacking in well grounded drama and action with a gritty edge.

I've always wondered what a Peter Jackson "Thor" saga would be like, or even hiring the production company that produces "Game Of Thrones" to give Thor an epic treatment.

@magnetic_eye: Peter Jackson would be my choice too. The film would definitely have a more Norse mythological atmosphere about it. It's obvious Marvel wanted to avoid that route so stuck with the "aliens from another dimension" explanation to use them to introduce cosmic Marvel.

@magnetic_eye: Yea the Game of Thrones production company would've been really interesting to see how they would've done it!
