If you've seen tHe image you know he looks awesome. I, for one, am extremely excited to see why he's unworthy and what his adventures will include with janbjorn. Im interested to see how he uses his other powers now without the luxury of mjolnir. Is anyone else at least interested in unworthy Thor?

I am very interested in the possibilities. Its always been said he doesn't need the Hammer, now its his time to prove it. Aside from that, despite knowing its unlikely, I really hope they use this opportunity to actually explore his Elder God heritage more deeply. His birth mom is the living essence of the Earth, there is a story there that any half wit writer could make something out of. Its always frustrated me that Marvel has always pretty much ignored this huge amount of potential. If he's not the Thunder God anymore then he's got enough free time to figure that stuff out.

Exactly what I'm interested to see. Especially if it'll be illustrated byEsad Ribic. I'd also like to see him riding toothgnasher through space and chopping up frost giants with his axe. So much potential for this to go either incredibly well,, or horribly bad.

@pperspectiveandreality: All the best stories start out with the potential to be awful.

True enough. I believe Aaron will use his earth based powers though. He is aware of them. Remeber this: http://www.comicvine.com/images/1300-3264416/

@pperspectiveandreality: Sometimes when someone says a story will suck before actually reading it, I like to remind them of other characters who got their start with Zero faith in success, like Spider-Man, Superman and Wonder Woman.

I will definitely read it!! I mean I love his new look it looks more viking..Also a few people are disappointed that he will lose Mjolnir but lets face it, he's not actually trading his hammer for a low level axe - I mean that axe (Which I still have problems saying the name) is the one that killed Exitar with the help of Sentry if I recall so its power levels should be around Mjolnir's level anyways.

Also I mentioned this before but I'll say again - Thor in many cases is said to be great because of his hammer you know like "The hammer makes the god" sort of thing but with this new direction, Marvel might give readers both fans or not a new light on how they see Thor.

So yea bring it on I'll read it..

P.S I hope this new Thor is like 616 Thor + Ultimate Thor = New Unworthy Thor with Celestial killing Axe. (Just a fanboy wish)

@pperspectiveandreality: so? Whenever someone loses an arm its a big deal. I prefer Thor to have two arms than an silver one. And he doesn't use that arm usually. Only when fighting. He usually walks around with one arm. He says it is too heavy to wear all the time. So it's still a big deal...

I disagree that it's a big deal. You'll get used to it. That's a minor gripe that you're going to let make you miss out on Aaron's next Thor stories. His writing has been amazing so far so that's a petty reason IMO. I have a strong feeling that he'll get over that weight issue for the duration I the story. I highly doubt Aaron will have him walking around with one arm when his new weapon requires two. If you're going to drop it that's fine, but I'm of the opinion you'll be missing out on a great story.

I am really looking forward to what Aaron has planned. Plus, both this version of Thor and the new Thor both have black covered left arms so the loss of the arm looks to be an interesting thing. Plus, I can't believe I get to draw parallels between Finn and Thor, haha.

I hate the artwork just for starters. Thor without his hammer is a insult. This artwork not a far cry less of one. Like the Silver Surfer book coming out you have to ask did they set themselves up for failure. Like putting water in your gas tank and trying to drive to work. You just will not get far.

It is not the character that is for sure for the character has lasted life times.

Long before Comics Thor has been tossing around hammers.

I love to read comics for A. Artwork and B. the story. C. the fans and group of people that embody a tale.

I think they forgot all these things here with this story.

@pperspectiveandreality: Yes! That image looks so badass. AND stories about fallen heroes or at least "demoted" ones are interesting character studies at the very least.

Also, what's wrong with him losing an arm? It'll be interesting to see how he adapts to a prosthetic - if he has to and as a marketing ploy, Marvel's probably thinking that it will appeal to readers with prosthetics. (I'm not saying it'll be successful, but it IS an attempt)

you mean nothing says country farmer like a rope belt? As for missing arm is a advanced group cannot regrow a arm they are not to advanced. You can bring somebody back from the dead but hell they cannot heal a arm. This is simple for SS or any wielder of the power cosmic. You would think healing a arm would be child's play for Odin. Who can change matter at will. Bad story telling why even give them powers just let them do what ever.
