Poll Did Thor destroy a planet or a moon? (112 votes)

    It was a planet 53%
    it was a moon 47%

So this all started in this thread. @raynorj argues that this:

is the depiction of the destruction of a MOON rather than a planet. (even though the comic says and shows differently but whatever. sophist? i kid i kid.)

@raynorj argues that the second panel of this scan (comic vine wont let me upload it for some reason):

    http://www.comicvine.com/images/1300-3560934

is the same thing as the fifth panel on this page:

    @raynorj argues that this:

is young thor sending Gorr to yet another, as he phrases it, "planet/moon" but logic would dictate otherwise.

As this is the succession of events in the order of their chronology:

    1:http://www.adventuresinpoortaste.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/thor9-threethors_gorr.png

    2-3:http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/scale_super/11113/111132409/3425615-untitled.jpg

    4:http://www.comicvine.com/images/1300-3373771

    5: http://www.comicvine.com/images/1300-3373772

    6:http://www.comicvine.com/images/1300-3373773

7: i cant find this scan online but this is the one where old thor tells avenger thor to go fight gorr

    8:http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/original/11112/111126195/3291996-4180709447-QiyJA.jpg

    9:http://www.comicvine.com/images/1300-3264416

there's one more scan where its actually called a "world" but im having trouble finding it now so ill post it later

Does it matter? It was stated Mjolnir can destroy planets when young Thor tried to wield it and Thor states it again when he acknowledges She Thor as the new Mjolnir wielder so either way Thor with Mjolnir is a planet buster.

@thorodinson24: Apparently when it comes to comics some people refuse to accept exposition and unless it's explicitly illustrated on panel then it never happened... the "pics or stfu" brigade. lol!

Hard to say, but is probably a moon,

    No Caption Provided

Or a small planet. Is seen a planet/moon shattering in the ground, and we can see another moon or planet on the back ground, and then we see a close up and a object being completely shattered. Maybe a close up to the first moon in the background? Maybe or is maybe the first moon/planet that was being shatter looking down on it. It does is shattering on the same way the first one was. So maybe it was just a moon. Though is still far above anything New 52 Superman has in terms of striking power.

Is really hard to say so the only way to answer that question is to ask Breevort.

Wait a minute. If a planet or a moon isn't saying anything about the actual size. Does that mean planet-buster or moon-buster are the same?

To me it's a planet. Thor tought it was a moon but the narration implies he is wrong

He was in the process of doing so and since shockwaves are way weaker than what caused them...

The planet was shattering below them with the shockwave of Thor's hits, and the moon/small planet above them was cracking. That's pretty much a WBH level feat and the best non-outlier for Thor tbh.

ye aren't shockwaves supposed to be super weak with distance, also the magma looks like GBE is being overcome for what's under them (bursting out of crust etc)

@antithetical: It is just a statement, it has never happened on panel, thus it is illogical to argue what type of a celestial body was shattered as it was never shown. Also, even the statement was not "Thor shattered worlds around him" it was "Thor ignored worlds shattering around him"

Doesn't’ matter since Thor has decades of feats that put him well above solar system level.

...When the hell did I say that? Solar system level is massively above planet level lol.

@takenstew22: @captainofthunder: no problem, I think the chick isn't tangible since she's just a false memory or something. And it's also impressive they wiped out all those aliens at the same time
