Variety are saying Cate Blanchett is in early talks with Marvel Studios to play a role in Thor Ragnarok. Which would make Blanchett's first appearance in a comic book movie. Most probably the female villain that's speculated to be Enchantress or Hela as the villain for Ragnarok. Of course, these sources might be wrong or nothing might come of it but this might be worth speculation in of itself.

Personally I think she'd be better suited portraying Hela rather than Amora, but then Marvel Studios is apt to make whatever arbitrary decisions concerning characters that they want.

I don't see Feige have Cate and make her only relevant in the Ragnarok, (as Amora or Valkyrie her spotlight ends in the mentioned movie), but as Hela there is potential for much more, Infinity War!?

I think she'll probably play Hela, because Ragnarok is basically the apocalypse, so it makes sense to have the goddess of death there. Someone has also suggested she's also play Death (by combining the two roles), in order to give Thanos another connection to the Avengers.

Well that's kind of what I"m thinking. If she ends up doing more than just one film Hela would be the obvious choice as she can fill the role of "Death" (already being the Norse death goddess) and Thanos' obsession for Infinity War. And as we've discussed before it would neatly tie things together rather than introducing another personification of death.

Yup...Since A:AoU that we put this possibility on the table, and Cate Blanchett is such a big name that reinforces this possible scenario!
