And I though I was Crazy!

Thor God of Thunder has been a great title with a couple of minor bumps, but it doesn't change that fact that I loved this ending. This is where I usually get worried when it comes to Jason Aaron, he is not especially good with endings, because he usually leaves a lot of unanswered questions, but I'm glad that this was not the case, the ending wrapped up nicely and while it's not as good as the first arc it's definitely still great.

The first thing most people will notice will be the fact that the fight is absolutely amazing, sure it's not as good as the Gorr vs Thors fight, but the scale, tone and power the power level of the characters had been considerably different, so it's completely understandable why this fight is different from the previous one. Malekith and Thor have two different styles of fighting it's good to see that clash here, Thor is more of a Warrior/Brutish fighter whereas Malekith has to rely mostly on his sorcery and trickery to best thor in a fight. My only gripe was the I was hoping that the frost Giants from the previous issue didn't appear, and I was sure they'd be there for the big fight, luckily Aaron has found another interesting purpose for them which I think will be great. Malekith was absolutely awesome here, his sheer madness contrasted thor very well and it's sad that he wasn't nearly as energetic in the movie as he was here, which is sad really because Chris eccleston would have done a Fantastic job.( hehe) The League of realms were just as great, each of them have their own distinct personality and shticks that set them apart from the others. Plus they are living examples of Thors great leadership skills. As one of Thors companions remarked, the Thunderer managed to bring people who were brought up to despise each other together to stand against a common threat, that's not an easy task to accomplish.

I also love how Aaron shows that the Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The tree in this case being the dark elf race itself, because they are just as insane as Malekith. The final twist of the book was something that I needed time think over because it seemed just crazy, but I understand that it serves a purpose. Jason Aaron makes it clear that sometimes you have to loose a battle to win the war, which fits a thor book perfectly if you ask me. Moreover, Aaron doesn't really rest with his grotesque humor, there is one scene in the book that made me laugh historically simply because it was amazing. Most people might label it to be as going to far but again, it makes sense, because one has to keep in mind that these league members don't YET like each other that much.

Furthermore, while the art has finally gained a rigid structure and it provided us with a much needed epic fight scene, the shifting of artists does make the whole experience feel a bit inconsistent, but still it's a minor complaint because the overall issue was great and i enjoyed it immensely.

    Recommendation: Yes!
