The Kirby Show
Both stories in this issue are co-credited to Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. It's pretty clear at this point that along with the layouts, the bulk of the 'writing' of Thor is actually being done by Jack Kirby, with Stan Lee and Vince Colletta doing the finishing in terms of script and ink respectively.
So, whether you'll like it is entirely dependent on whether you like Kirby's style or not - in writing and art. This is probably one of the most pure examples of Kirby's work at Marvel, with a heavy emphasis on action, poses emphasizing foreshortened perspective, and lots of arcane looking machinery.
But, this is also Kirby at his most self-indulgent - and face it, his writing skills never quite equaled that of his art. The story is a seemingly endless parade of pseudo-science gadgets from 'atomic steeds' to 'cathode gloves', all wrapped up in an overly pat ending.
If you like fights that feature sequences with nothing more than 'Pow!'s and 'Krang!'s, though, and dig the weird science fiction of it all, you're going to be in heaven.
