    Short summary describing this issue.

Along Came a Spider... last edited by pikahyper on 03/12/19 07:13AM View full history

Banshee is attacked by a robot spider and sends a message of warning about a spider to the X-men. The robot has a spy cam and was made by Factor Three actually, but the X-Men find Spider-Man on the same spot from where Banshee had called them, and thought he is a threat. While they battle the Spider-Man (who isn't aware of what is going on), Jean Grey tries to locate Banshee. At the end, they realize Spider-Man wasn't the real threat and then trie to find Banshee, who is still missing.

This is the first team-up of X-Men and Spider-Man.

    Along Came a Failure 0

Ouch. This is virtually a total failure from beginning to end. Byzantine's review enumerates the many coincidences quite well, so no need exists to mention them again here. Allow me, then, to simply express my deep disappointment with the issue: here's the chance for an actual meaningful meeting between Spider-Man and the X-Men, superheroes misunderstood and maligned by the ones they protect, and yet it's nothing more than an unnecessary battle filled with sarcastic thoughts and comments, unexpl...

    Contrived Coincidences 0

This issue is nominally part of the wider "Factor Three" storyline. Well, it does manage to reintroduce the Banshee, give readers a glimpse at the Changeling and introduce the headquarters of this "European" organization. But otherwise it is a collection of contrived coincidences. By definition: a " highly improbable occurrence in a story which is required by the plot, but which has absolutely no outward justification". Here we have several. Even Roy Thomas himself seems to be calling attention ...
