    Week 10, another good week!

    Man with a plan!
    Man with a plan!

In this issue, Batman Beyond has a plan to break into Mr. Terrific's building, but he's going to need a little help; Grifter is attacked by a cloaked O.M.A.C.; and more!

Before I get into the highlights of this issue, lets talk about the cover for this 10th issue! Ryan Sook is an amazing artist! While I'm still hoping that he gets to be an interior artist for at least one issue in Futures End; (specifically a Batman Beyond filled one) I will certainly settle for his awesome covers for this series! The design, and placement of the characters, really drew me into the issue. While this issue doesn't entirely focus on Batman Beyond and company, it still makes you excited to see Batman finally pull off his master plan! The bright colors of the floor plan at Batman's fingertips, and the shadows that are casted onto the faces of the characters, make this one of the best covers yet! Great job Sook! Now lets move on!

One of the highlights of this issue is obviously, Batman Beyond! Being one of the driving forces for this year long series, and having so few appearances in this series thus far; to me, every appearance he has needs to make an impact! Thankfully, the writers did a good job at making his appearance impactful. Seeing Terry come up with a plan to break into Mr. Terrific's building, and using a couple of villains to help him accomplish his goal, is really interesting to witness. It shows the character's strength as a leader, and also deceit, as he has knowledge of the future and is only trying to prevent Brother Eye from controlling the world. So the writers are playing with the character quite nicely, and his confrontation with Tim Drake was a nice touch as well!

One of the other highlights was Grifter on Cadmus Island. Grifter is slowly, but steadily, getting accustomed to his life on the island; and having to hunt down Superhumans [eventually]. His battle with a cloaked O.M.A.C. raises some interesting questions as to, "What exactly is happening?", so it'll be interesting to see what this twist will do, and its impact on Grifter's overall story.

Why don't you comeback here Superman and finish this puzzle you left!

Other parts of the story involves Superman, S.H.A.D.E., and Big Barda. These parts as a whole, contributed to the larger story and even bigger mystery, however they weren't all that great. Superman is still looking for the man that broke out of prison last issue; Hawkman is [not] feeling guilty as he adjusts to not dying with his teammates in Stormwatch; and someone needs Big Barda's help, as she's one of the heroes that faked their death during the war. Each story can be summed up like this; confusing, unnecessary, and boring. Those three stories were just here to fill up the page, and setup for events later down the road. They didn't feel meaningful at all, they just felt like another puzzle that was dropped on the readers lap to solve. WE ALREADY HAVE TOO MANY PUZZLES OUT AS IT IS, LETS ACTUALLY FINISH ONE!

A good issue that should be read, 3 out of 5! Until the next one!

I suppose "Tonga Unconsciousness Strike" doesn't have the same ring. The GoodThe main thing going for this week’s chapter of FUTURES END is the extra spotlight on Terry McGinnis. Given that most of the momentum for this series comes from the 0 issue and Terry’s mission, it’s good to see him move forward. Also, his exchange with Cal, however brief, was great. I hope those two cross paths again. The BadThe pacing in this series is still uneven. There’s not much left to say ...
