    Part 2 of the 3-part "Foxes and Hounds." The passion driving Lucien's misguided pursuit of Echo unfolds in "The Bittersweet Scent of Opium," a flashback issue set long ago in the Waking World. Lucien remembers his courting of the psychic medium Christina, whom Echo now eerily resembles. The ill-fated love affair holds the key to Lucien's obsession with Echo/Christina, and foreshadows an ominous ending for someone he holds dear...

    Note: Epithumia, the "spirit" channeled by Christina Weston, is an alias of Desire.
