    The Doctor...

    The appeal of The Doctor is simply the fact that he's "The Doctor" that's all we know him as. Keeps him kind of mysterious. As well as the fact that there are so many versions of him "The Doctor" just works best. Otherwise people would have to remember so many different doc names.
