In a "Year One" story, written by Steve Englehart (this month's BATMAN: STRANGE APPARITIONS) with art by Javier Pulido, set mere days after Bruce Wayne assumed his role as the Dark Knight, the erstwhile hero suffers the difficulties of juggling two lives. The sacrifices it entails cut deep when stopping a crimewave in Gotham costs him a chance at love.. Plus, a "Tales of the Bat-Cave" story (written and illustrated by Graham Nolan) reveals the "origin" of the cave's legendary giant penny; and the Huntress runs into a group of juvenile criminals who may be in over their heads (written by Joseph Harris with art by Eric Battle and Rob Hunter).
