The Beast rekindles his romance with Vera Cantor, an old flame from his days at the Xavier Institute. But after Vera is poisoned by a rogue cup o’ tea, will the Skrulls step in and save her life?

    The Resurrection Stone

It's a happy day at Avengers Mansion as Hank McCoy is reunited with his former girlfriend Vera Cantor. But joy quickly turns to horror when a Skrull (disguised as Jarvis) poisons Vera! The devious Skrull will revive her, but only if the Beast, Wanda, Vision, and Wonder Man retrieve the resurrection stone! However, the stone has been split into two halves...and sent back in time! The four avengers' first stop is 14th century London during the gruesome bubonic plague outbreak. And the second...Dachau concentration camp near the end of World War II. Earth Mightiest Heroes witness human suffering at its absolute worst. And in the end Hank McCoy will hold the power of life and death in his hands. What will the Beast do? An excellent story featuring the four avengers who would depart the team two issues later.
