Rest In Peace Parker...until your new movie comes out.

Do you remember when Ultimate Peter Parker died? Do remember how well done and emotional it was? We may not have wanted Pete to die, but at the very least it was done with respect and actually had some intensity and solid art to it. ASM 700 has neither. As a matter of fact, the main problem with the conclusion of this issue is the fact that we have already experienced the death of Peter Parker before. So to witness Peter die again, albeit in the core marvel universe, just feels like a desperate attempt to catch lighting in the bottle twice. It also does not help that the final story arc as a whole, as well as the art, is not really compelling and because of that, the scenes in this last issue that should have an important impact on the reader, just fall flat. The idea of Spidey and Doc Ock switching bodies could be solid as a regular spiderman story, but not a grand final send-off to a series. Going back to the art, it does not match the tone that some of these scenes are trying to convey. It is incredibly hyper exaggerated and kinda sloppy at certain points. For example: There is a scene where the superior spiderman knocks scorpion's jaw off, but by just looking at the panel by itself you would never have known. This comic also suffers the same problem that All New X-men #1 had: you have already seen the comic online before it was released. Granted this comic was leaked whereas ANX#1 was shown through previews but still the fact remains that most of the comic, including the ending, is already available to you through the internet if you paid attention to your comic news. While there are a few decent moments, ASM#700 in the end is a real disappointment of a last issue and not even a solid one.

This is something I've been waiting ages for, and finally the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man, issue 700 is out. Although I didn't know what my final reaction to this would be, as I've been sceptical since hearing that Peter Parker would not be Spider-Man in the upcoming Superior Spider-Man series. I've still however been very excited and although I'm not entirely sure what I feel since reading it, I am happy I got it.PlotThis issue sees Peter Parker, who's trapped in Doctor Octopus' body make...

      Amazing Spider-Man #700 Review 0

Recently published on Comic Frontline. So, it's all come down to this. The end of an era has occurred with the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man. Dan Slott has spoken, and the fans are reacting. There were a number of variant covers to commemorate the historic nature of this issue, but the standard release is an achievement of its own, a collage composed entirely of images from previous Spider-Man comics to create a larger picture of half of Spidey's mask. There's artwork from all eras of the comi...
