It's the End. 0

Dan crazy bastard. What happens in this issue will shock, infuriate, excite, depress and creep you out.I was more excited about this being released on the 26th than I was for Christmas the day before. No joke.I wasn't disappointed, either.I won't say anything specific about what actually happens, because not only should everyone read this book, they should go into it without any spoilers. However, I will talk, very generally, about certain plot points. You, (yes, YOU reading THIS) nee...

An End To An Amazing Series. 0

Synopsis: One of Marvel’s longest series ends, but makes way for something “Superior” next year. Before I even I get into this review, I must say, thank you Dan Slott, for some incredible stories you have written for Amazing Spider-Man. When I finished reading this issue for the first time, I flipped out. This issue may be more controversial than One More Day. But after I reading this issue a couple more times and really analyzing it, I thought to myself, “This is amazing (No pun intended). Insan...

The Amazing Spider-Man series are coming to an end and this is a fight that you would want to see and an issue that you should definitely read. The GoodThe last issue of ASM is here with writer Dan Slott who is pulling thisngs off pretyy nice for now and with this issue you can actually see that this is really the end.The whole issue is a big race between Doc Ock and Spidey.Who is going to outsmart the other one out and it works quite well.Their brains are shown out pretty well and this is a batt...

They did it... 0

When I read ASM 698, I thought "Slott wrote himself into a corner! On one hand, this could cause a major uproar in the comic-reading community if it were to become permanent, but on the other, it'll be a cheap gimmick to have such a big reveal and revert it back for the final arc of a comic book 50 years in the making". To be honest, I didn't want the series to end with a fizzle, but I also didn't want someone else under Spider-Man's mask. But Slott looped his way around this whole mind-swap mes...

Rest In Peace Parker...until your new movie comes out. 0

Do you remember when Ultimate Peter Parker died? Do remember how well done and emotional it was? We may not have wanted Pete to die, but at the very least it was done with respect and actually had some intensity and solid art to it. ASM 700 has neither. As a matter of fact, the main problem with the conclusion of this issue is the fact that we have already experienced the death of Peter Parker before. So to witness Peter die again, albeit in the core marvel universe, just feels like a desperate ...

Amazing Spider-Man #700 Review 0

Recently published on Comic Frontline. So, it's all come down to this. The end of an era has occurred with the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man. Dan Slott has spoken, and the fans are reacting. There were a number of variant covers to commemorate the historic nature of this issue, but the standard release is an achievement of its own, a collage composed entirely of images from previous Spider-Man comics to create a larger picture of half of Spidey's mask. There's artwork from all eras of the comi...

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS! SO IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS DON'T READ THIS REVIEW! ENJOY!PlotSPOCK V.S YOU'RE FRIENDLY NEIGHBOR HOOD OCTOPUS IN THE FINAL ISSUE OF AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!Story & Script. Now let me start out by saying the whole plot of this issue and Superior Spidey, is incredibly incredibly stupid. I mean it's really dumb. Now having said that, I must say it is a different and interesting twist. Does it make it any less stupid? Nah, but does it help that it's that awesome kind o...

Spider-Man No More 0

This is something I've been waiting ages for, and finally the final issue of Amazing Spider-Man, issue 700 is out. Although I didn't know what my final reaction to this would be, as I've been sceptical since hearing that Peter Parker would not be Spider-Man in the upcoming Superior Spider-Man series. I've still however been very excited and although I'm not entirely sure what I feel since reading it, I am happy I got it.PlotThis issue sees Peter Parker, who's trapped in Doctor Octopus' body make...

Last one out turn out the lights 0

I want to hate this book. I do hate the direction it is going. But gosh darn it, reading the main story it was well done. (the back up stories on the other hand....yikes!) Yes the plot device is lame, and yes I will be avoiding Superior Spider-Man, but this book still had me hoping good would win.But it lost. Evil won out....kind of.This is the end of an era. I got back into Spider-Man around issue 501. I read through some bad stuff (Gwen Stacy's Kids?! One More Day?! Freak?! Paper Doll?!) but s...

In the Aftermath: Apathy 0

Whew, ok. Let’s…let’s just take a second with this one.To start, this is a massive issue. The $7.99 price tag might have tipped you off, or maybe you realized as soon as you picked it up. Either way, this is a big book. To credit that, most of the book is actual story which is surprising for a milestone issue. Too often we see an oversized book filled with one standard story and a fair amount of sub-par backups. Kudos to Slott and Ramos for completing a full 48 page story that wraps up the lates...

The monumental milestone issue of The Amazing Spider-Man is here! I thought the main story was pretty good but I could have skipped the supplemental back-up filler stories....

in depth look at the last issue..:'( 0

SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden is it? 50 years ago The Amazing Spider-Man was created, and now it's ending, with a new Spider-Man, with one that's supposed to be: 'Superior...'. well as we saw in issue 698, Doc Ock is dieing, and decided to by switching bodies with Peter Parker. so now Ock has access to all of peter's powers, memories, and loved ones, while Peter has acess to Doc's smarts, power, and arms. this will be a tough battle, indeed.*****SPOIL...

Intresting story but fast and forced ending 0

[Spoilers Below: you have been warned]It is very interesting to note how a super villain is trying to avoid killing any innocents and imposing the same on his super-villain team while on the other hand the doc ock as "spider-man" doesn't care much about causing pain to the one he is fighting or maybe even the innocents. He is breaking jaws and maybe some bones without regret! What seems a little forced is doc ock getting emotional at the end and realizing how "tragic" life is and feel the same pa...

Finally HE DIED.... 0

Spiderman died....How happy I'am....This proves that they ran out of ideas for spiderman. This will give them time to come up with better stories. They did not want spiderman end up like superman. This will prevent spiderman comics from becoming crap.Don't worry spiderman will come back. No need for death treats against the writer....

Simply a Master Piece 0

The feelings I got reading this comic were amazing. I think we got to see the Peter Parker, fighting with everything he's got, like we havent seen in quite some time. I don't know if it was just me but I think I mentally read it with the music " Requiem for a Dream" running in my mind! He struggled until the very end, and this chapter changed from a great rush of adrenaline, to a really silent and sad dad of our great dear Peter Parker. The only reason I won't give 5 stars to this comic is simpl...

Amazing Spider-Man 700 0

It is Spider-Man vs. Doctor Octopus in a battle to the death! Who will reign triumphant? It has been 50 years, but this is the last issue of the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN title. The GoodSPOILERS PAST THIS POINTThe story started off slow with writer Dan Slott getting new and old readers acquainted with Peter Parker and Doc Ock's situation. Slott did a good job at building anticipation for the big confrontation between the two characters, ultimately showing from both Ock and Parker's perspectives on how t...

R.I.P 0

It's Spider-Man and Doctor Octopus to the death and definitely not the way one would expect. This issue cost me a lot of money and I think it was worth it. This king size issue goes so deep in depth, it was good to know that deep inside both, Doctor Octopus and J. Jonah Jameson do have a good side. SpOck had a good swing that knocked Scorpion's jaw off... literally. That made him realize how much 'Web-Head' had been holding back over the years. It was a very sad death of the real Spider-Man/Doc...

The Amazing Spider-Man #700: Not everybody's going to be pleased with this one... 0

One of the longest-running series controversially comes to an end with its 700th (!) issue: one of Marvel's proudest achievements, The Amazing Spider-Man. In the final part of Dying Wish, Peter Parker’s body has switched with the dying Doctor Octopus, and the two live out their lives as each other. Dan Slott’s writing is a little thick, and the characterisations are sometimes pretty off (particually the relationship with Spider-Ock and Mary Jane, which is very uncomfortable), although there are ...
