Waiting for May, Peter imagines all sorts of horrible things that could prompt her to insist they talk. She arrives with his shredded Spidey costume in her hands. Peter tries to explain it away but May won't allow him to lie anymore. She tells him she knows he is Spider-Man. Peter finally admits, telling her that he is responsible for Uncle Ben's death. May tells Peter she always believed Ben's death stemmed from an argument they had, after which Ben went for a walk, encountering the Burglar on his return. Relieved to finally be telling the truth each other, they stay up most of the night talking about Pete's Spidey career. May thinks it's wrong that people think her nephew is a bad man but Peter tells her that too much fuss will draw attention to her and him. May heads home, still stunned by the truth. Peter heads out into the city as Spider-Man.
