Easily the most popular feature of Target Comics, with something like 80 percent of the letters they got being about him, the powers that be at Novelty Comic s however couldn’t resist messing with it and ordered Basil to take him out of space, set him in the 20th century, and set him to punching German and Japanese soldiers in the jaw.
Basil Wolverton fought this saying that it would destroy the strip, and yet they insisted he do it anyway.
I was not long before Basil was proven correct and the now unpopular Earthbound Spacehawk was canceled.
While many have been reprinted, many of the original 29 stories have never been seen outside of Target Comics
