    Biography:

    Shortly before his death, Tanakata Z traveled to the Green Lantern planet-form, Mogo, for therapy after he had seen "some things on Procyon 8" that he didn't want to see again. While there, Tanakata Z became an unknowing victim of the mind-altering spores which had infested Mogo's therapeutic forests.

    Upon returning to his sector, he clashed egos with Guy Gardner, who had been sent to 2684 to assist Tanakata Z and his partner, Quond, in stabilizing a local colony, which was damaged and out of orbit. Tanakata Z took an immediate dislike to Gardner, and resented taking his orders. Appealing to his pride, Tanakata Z soon convinced his partner to abandon their post and leave the task to Gardner alone.

    Although the partners appeared to be relaxing in their Sector House, the madness from the spores soon took hold of Tanakata Z. Once Gardner arrived back at the Sector House, he found Quond dead, and a dying Tanakata Z implicating him in the murder. The existence of the mind-altering spores would soon be uncovered, but too late to save the two Green Lanterns of Sector 2684.
