Titano! Simon Drudd! And the Man Who Knew When the World Would End!
Issue ten of Tales to Astonish was not one that was particularly notable for the storytelling, but it does feature some great art, presumably by Jack Kirby and Don Heck as there are no given credits.
Steve Ditko did sign one of the stories, "Something Lurks Inside!", which is understandable because it's some of his best work on the title. The story involves a rocket returning to earth with an infected passenger and hostile insect like aliens aboard. It's hard to read this story (or even look at the first panel) and not wonder if the creators of the Aliens films weren't at least partially inspired by it.
The cover story, however, is a little uninspired. The story is about a giant crab that menaces sea vessels. But uninspired is as bad as the comic ever gets, which is something - few anthologies from the Atlas Era didn't have at least one story that was groan-worthy for silliness or sappiness.
