the movie that started it all
superman the movie was the first big budgeted comic book film it was directed by Richard Donner who had just made the omen and mario puzo wrote the screenplay this film was made on a budget of 55 million dollars and it grossed 300.2 million dollars paving the way for comic books films to come anyway this film is not only a visual masterpiece its a great origin story too its told so well and has so many great moments like when Jonathon dies and clark says "All those things I can do. All those powers. And I couldn't even save him" that moment to me was far more powerful then anything in mos which failed to realize that Superman is a hero hes something to look up to and to aspire to be like him always optimistic in the face of adversity its what makes him the greatest superhero of them all this film showcases all his heroics played brilliantly by the late great Christopher reeve this film also has one of the greatest soundtracks to any superhero film ever the superman theme by John Williams is just so classic and brilliant a terrific theme for a terrific hero superman the movie still holds up to this day because of the brilliant writing and the great chemistry between the actors
