Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Superman Is DOOOOOOOOOMED!
Ghost soldier,Atomic Skull,Steel and Metallo count me in! I am actually intrigued about what brings them together.
And what's with that SM/WW cover?
They will be the Men of S.T.E.E.L and apparently after Superman beats Doomsday he will uh.. become Doomsday.

Or that's what these make it sound like at least:
"Action Comics" #31 is also scheduled for May 7, written by Pak and illustrated by Aaron Kuder: "Superman barely survived his battle with Doomsday and now realizes that his wounds are not healing. Not only that, but he's suffering disturbing physical and emotional side effects. He is changing . . . and the newly enlisted Men of S.T.E.E.L.--Metallo, Ghost Soldier, Atomic Skull and Steel--are about to find out into what!"
"Superman" #31 is the fourth "Superman: Doomed" installment, from Lobdell and artist Ed Benes, scheduled for release on May 28: "SUPERMAN: DOOMED continues as Superman continues to change. Plus, Lois's psi powers spike again as we see the looming shadow of Brainiac!"

Eh, I will give it a shot, even though it sounds rediculous. The Men of STEEL sound awesome and it is the thing I am looking forward the most at this point.
Why does Wonder Woman have a strap around her leg?
She sometimes has in the new 52. In JL she usually had until Ivan Reis took over. It was supposed to be a sword holder but Azzarello made the swords spawn from her bracelets.
so lois transformation is brainiac is taking over her body cool idea but it lobdell writing this so not holding my breath
Although I'm still not too keen on this and won't be buying all the follow up tie in issues, I think I might treat myself to the Superman: Doomed one shot to see how the New 52 Superman vs Doomsday rematch goes down. At least the promise of Superman unleashing new levels of power is going to make this one helluva an epic fight to say the least.

...nope. Garters clearly.
I'm excited for it....I hope they let Dan Jurgens have SOME part of this
hey we agree on something! I love Dan Jurgens.

That makes it sound like Doomsday is some kind of Kryptonian werewolf Lol.
Anyway, I am sold. Bring it on, DC!

lol for two superman fans we sure dont agree on a lot. Dan Jurgens draws one of my favorite renditions of Superman
i mean is that not gorgeous? not to mention he draws beautiful women (imo of course)
@sog7dc: I got booster golds original run and he is the writer and artist its pretty cool.
DC make Lois look like the monster. It seems DC finished ruin Wonder Woman and decided to do the same with Lois. Idiots.
OH GOD PLEASE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know it has Soule & Pak, but it also has Lobdel ;~;
But at least they are giving Doomsday justice in strength department, unlike a lot of times before. I mean when all the superman cast need to back up superman + Wonder Woman to fight doomsday, you know he is going to be strong.
And anotherrrr crossover. Pass.
OH GOD PLEASE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any crossover done with Lobdel can't be anything but bad...

Age of Apocalypse was probably the best story of the 90's, but i get your point, current Lobdell is awful.
I may skip this, simply because Lobdell is in the works and he could very easily ruin anything good or positive conjured up by both Pak and Soule.
In other words, if Lobdell wasn't involved I'd be all in for this event.
This looks awful even by Doomsday standards.
LOL.
Man when will DC learn that Doomsday is a crap character,so now it looks like he can infect his enemies prolly turning Clark in to were Doomsday, yeah I'll pass.
@squalleon: This one from Vanguard 01:
"Oh noes! Our awesome hero just pulled out an insane amount of power in order to save us all from a horrible monster! He's EEEEEEEEVIIIIIIILLLLL! Let's throw rocks at him and embrace a murdering sociopath as our REAL hero!"
Let's see: overhyped Doomsday battle, an ungrateful public who don't appreciate Superman saving their lives, YET ANOTHER government-owned "Anti-Superman Team" which includes one of Superman's closest allies (Steel), and all of this just segues into more hero-hating and villain glorifying.
Yup, I'll be passing on all Superman titles for the foreseeable future."
@lvenger: have you read this? Johns & Romita "Really Want to Create Something Big" with Superman
@jonny_anonymous: Not the updated bit. It looks like Johns and Romita are on for the long haul then and will be dealing with the post Doomed status quo. Not certain how to feel about that in all honesty. But thanks for the link mate, I enjoyed looking through this new development! :)
@lvenger: I was going to post it on the forum but I couldn't be bothered lol, JRJR sounds like a tool I think

Yea I LOL'd when JRJR was all like "yea I totally had this story I wanted to tell with Silver Surfer but when I came over to DC Superman was just perfect for it" and Geoff Johns was like "yea, we're not using that story"
A couple of things to discuss:
1. How is metallo still alive after Forever Evil #5?
2. What's up with Steel's new outfit?
3. What's up with superman in Superman Wonder Woman
4. What's up with Atomic Skull's new look? He looks like a freaking rock creature.
5. Why are the villains teaming up?
6. How did doomsday escape?
7. Am I the only one who wished they made Atomic Skull more relevant before putting him in the New 52?
8. Who else is happy Ghost Soldier is not a one time villain :D
@2cool4fun: they are not really bad guys any more, they are the government run team called the Men of S.T.E.E.L lead by um.. Steel

3-My guess after fighting doomsday he will be infected with something causing him to transform into superdoom
4-dont know but i like it
7-yes
8-Agree
@lvenger: have you read this? Johns & Romita "Really Want to Create Something Big" with Superman
Hey it's Johns, unless the title has "Justice League" in it's name, he always goes with an epic larger then life story. Which is a perfect mix with Greg Pak's stories that focus more on superman as a person.
Which is perfect for me, since they are canceling/finishing 4 comics from my pull list...which is I guess good news, in my bad news :/
Also I think Lobdel is writing this with them ( since I think good writers like Soule & Pak can see he is bad ) is cause this was mostly his idea. Cause the guy does have good ideas, he just sucks at writing.

This...even if i am curious to see what these "new levels of power"are; i mean Superman was already shaking the whole planet when he was fighting h'el..and i doubt he will go further in this fight: maybe he can do more but...the earth needs to survive this fight. Still i am really excited about this and above all we are getting 2 awesome fights more or less at the same time: Superman vs Wraith and Superman vs Doomsday!
However i don't think that the public fearing Superman is strange at all. The problem can subsist if people will fear him most than they admire him..since lets be honest a being who is so damn strong IS scary..even if he is the most good guy on the planet he is still a guy who can estinguish all the life on earth if he decides to. So even the idea of a government who assembles an anti-superman army makes sense, they have to be pragmatic in any case, they must be capable to put down a possible threat (even not so possible in the superman case).
@lvenger: You're the lamest person I know, you just hate change apparently.
There's one thing I don't like about this. And it's that Lobdel is the one who is doing the last part of the story. Now of course that is probably cause as I said before, he is most likely the one who came up with this, but I just don't want him doing the last part. To me the last part of a story should be the best one, and with that I was hoping that Superman Wonder Woman was going to be the book to finish this crossover. Cause Soule is the perfect guy when it comes to finishing a story.
@superguy1591: Oh how you wound me with meaningless and unsubstantial, pitifully derivative insults. No I don't hate change, I hate stagnant and pointless rehashes of stories which is exactly how Superman/Wonder Woman is and what Superman Doomed could be. Especially when the idiotic hack that is Lobdell is involved with this crossover. Maybe you should read the original Death of Superman to see what my problem is with DC redoing it and try and get into your small closed mind that there are good reasons for opposing this so called 'change.' You'll seem less abrasive that way and understand Superman much better than you currently do.
@2cool4fun Why would Soule be the best choice to end this storyline?
